An Uber announced important changes for its drivers that take effect starting January 2025. The platform will implement new requirements for cars operating in different categories, directly affecting those working with older models or popular brands, according to cnnbrasil.

What Changes For Drivers

The main change relates to the restriction of car models in the platform’s more exclusive categories. The key change concerns the exclusion of popular models from certain categories, such as the Hyundai HB20 and the Renault Sandero, which will no longer be accepted on the platform for Uber Comfort. Moreover, Uber will now require that cars have a minimum age that varies from city to city, potentially reaching up to 2018, which will also affect many drivers with older models.

With the new requirements, Uber is defining which car models will be accepted for the categories with higher demand.
