Friends Find Classic Harley Davidson In Abandoned Storage And Make A Discovery That Could Change Everything
A group of friends in the United States experienced a mix of emotions after paying US$ 960 for an abandoned storage unit and discovering what seemed to be a true treasure chest with a Harley Davidson from 1950 and another significant find.
The YouTubers from the channel What The Hales, known for their auction adventures, purchased the unit in Cleveland, Ohio, and were completely surprised by the items found inside. Together with a friend, Rob, they revealed their discoveries in a video that quickly went viral.
The unit, acquired as a last chance at an auction, turned out to be a sure investment. Many other bidders had already left or exhausted their budgets, allowing the Hales to close the deal at what seemed like a modest price.

Upon opening the storage, the team was left speechless when they came across a muscle car orange Dodge Charger, in pristine condition, resting in the middle of the space.
The Dodge Charger: An Icon On Four Wheels

The vehicle, a classic Dodge Charger with a black interior and shiny finish, was the center of attention. The hood, slightly ajar, revealed a Chrysler V8 Hemi engine, one of the most desired by classic car enthusiasts.
However, the joy was interrupted by a legal detail: the car had an active lien, which meant that if its original owners had outstanding debts, the vehicle would need to be returned to the creditor.
“It was disappointing to learn that we couldn’t keep the car”, lamented George Hales in a laid-back tone.
Despite the setback, the friends kept their enthusiasm as they continued exploring the storage.
The Real Prize: A Vintage Harley Davidson
As they walked to the back of the unit, another find stole the show: a 1950s Harley-Davidson motorcycle, covered in dust but in surprisingly good condition.
The vehicle appeared almost intact, with an original engine that had only run 240 kilometers. Even not knowing if the bike still worked, the Hales were confident that they had found an item of immense value for collectors.
“We might be looking at something worth tens of thousands of dollars”, commented George.
Although the group didn’t know the exact model of the Harley and needed an expert for evaluation, the brand’s reputation was enough to create high expectations.
Other Valuable Items
In addition to the Harley and the Dodge Charger, the storage unit still held other treasures, including a car lift valued at US$ 2,000, old film cameras in excellent condition, and a large car dealership sign, potentially valuable for relic collectors.
As they bid farewell to the Dodge Charger, the friends decided to leave their mark in a fun way. Using their fingers, they wrote in the accumulated dust on the car: “What The Hales was here” (What The Hales was here).
The Impact of The Discovery
The video of the discovery was yet another example of how taking risks at storage unit auctions can yield unexpected rewards.
The story also served as a reminder of the importance of vintage items in today’s market. New models from Harley-Davidson, for instance, have been eagerly awaited by motorcyclists, with launches promised for 2026.
In addition to its tradition of quality, the brand is investing in innovations, such as cutting-edge safety technologies for the roads.
Finally, although not everything could be taken home, the group showed how a passion for antiques and a spirit of adventure can lead to unforgettable discoveries – and sometimes, unexpected financial rewards.
