With Registrations Open Until June 2, Uespi Courses Target Graduates with High Academic Performance and Offer Hybrid Training in Renewable Energies and Internet Systems in 62 Municipalities.
The State University of Piauí (Uespi), through the Open University of Piauí (Uapi), opened on Wednesday (28) the selection process for 1,601 slots intended for holders of a higher education diploma. The opportunities are for the courses in technology in Renewable Energies and Internet Systems, with classes in a hybrid format — part in-person and part remote — distributed across 62 municipalities in the state.
Registrations, which are already open, will continue until 1 PM on June 2 and must be made exclusively through the official Uespi website.
Courses Targeting Graduated Professionals
According to the announcement, the courses have been structured for already graduated professionals who want to deepen their knowledge or redirect their professional trajectory. The proposal is to enhance technical qualifications in strategic areas such as energy transition and digital development.

A study reveals the expansion of renewable energy procurement in Brazil and shows how companies are taking advantage of opportunities to reduce expenses, ensure energy efficiency, and strengthen strategic environmental commitments.
The general coordinator of UAPI, Professor Ana Angélica Costa, highlighted the importance of the initiative. “It is with great enthusiasm that we launch another announcement aimed at diploma holders, offering opportunities to those who are already in the job market but wish to continue their studies,” she stated.
The courses are funded with support from the State Department of Education (SEDUC), the Foundation for Research Support of the State of Piauí (FAPEPI), and the Regional Secretariats of Higher Education (SERES).
Selection by Curriculum Analysis
The selection of candidates will be done through curriculum analysis, considering academic titles and relevant experiences. The criteria include:
- Doctorate, master’s, or specialization
- Graduation with good performance (IRA ≥ 8.0)
- Experience as a teaching assistant in subjects
- Participation as a scholarship holder in scientific research projects
- Involvement in extension courses or projects
In addition to a higher education diploma recognized by the MEC, candidates must present an academic performance index (IRA) equal to or greater than 8.0, an essential criterion for classification.
Selection Process Calendar
The schedule released by Uespi outlines the following dates:
- Registrations: until June 2, at 1 PM
- Selection Results: June 19
- Institutional Enrollments: June 23 and 24
The university advises candidates to carefully read the full announcement, available on the Uespi website, to ensure that all documents and criteria are met within the stipulated deadline.
Interested parties should access the official Uespi website and fill out the registration form, attaching the required documentation. The complete announcement with all instructions and requirements is also available on the platform.
Training Targeted at Market Demands
The courses offered directly respond to new demands in the job market, especially in the areas of energy transition and digital transformation. The technology course in Renewable Energies prepares professionals to work on the implementation, maintenance, and management of clean generation systems, such as solar, wind, and biomass.
On the other hand, the Internet Systems course trains students for developing technological solutions aimed at the web, focusing on programming, networks, and information security.
The hybrid model seeks to ensure flexibility for students, allowing them to continue their professional activities while advancing in their academic training. The in-person hubs located in partner municipalities of UAPI provide the necessary support for the development of mandatory in-person activities.
Interiorization of Higher Education
The opening of these positions is part of Uespi’s policy of democratizing access to higher education. According to the university, the goal is to consolidate the interiorization of technological education in the state, reaching municipalities that often lack in-person higher education courses.
The project also aims to leverage the structure of the Open University of Piauí, which already provides support in various educational hubs across the state, allowing for the expansion of the teaching network with quality and low cost.
Strategic Importance of the Offered Areas
The investment in renewable energies as a training focus aligns with public policies and global sustainability guidelines. The sector is one of the priorities for the coming years, both in terms of job generation and technological innovation.
Similarly, the information technology (IT) sector has shown high demand for qualified professionals, especially in the context of digital transformation of public and private services. The Internet Systems course addresses this demand and enhances the technical capacity of trained professionals.
