Nicolás Maduro Said That Cuba Will Not Be Left Alone Under Any Circumstances, As It Will Always Have the Support of the Peoples of the World.
The President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, instructed on Tuesday the Minister of Oil, Tareck El Aissami, and the President of PDVSA, Asdrúbal Chávez, to support the reconstruction of the oil infrastructure devastated last week by a fire in the city of Matanzas, Cuba.
During a ceremony honoring the group of firefighters who helped contain the accident in Cuba, President Maduro ordered Venezuelan authorities to establish communication with Cuban authorities to initiate the restoration of the fuel tank yard structure in Matanzas.
“Cuba knows it has our scientific, technical, engineering support, and that of the workers; (…) contact the oil and energy authorities of Cuba to start the reconstruction project of the oil tank yard in Matanzas”, said the President.

Later, he assured that Cuba will not be alone under any circumstances, as it will always have “the support of the peoples of the world and sensitive, courageous, and humanitarian governments”.
“Fidel and Chávez founded the union of Cuba and Venezuela, elevating it to the highest level anyone could have thought. We have maintained it here”, emphasized the main Venezuelan leader to boost solidarity among his compatriots in the fire brigade.
At the ceremony, President Maduro presented a replica of the victorious saber of Carabobo and awarded the “Francisco de Miranda” Order in its Second Class Precursory to the delegation of oil specialists from Venezuela (PDVSA) who returned from their successful mission.
The leader also said that the group of 43 firefighters “will bring love and values from the Homeland to that great task that awaited them in Cuba, with both countries being examples of solidarity and fraternity”.
On the previous day, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez posted on his Twitter account: “We will never forget the heroism and fraternity of Mexicans and Venezuelans who came to support us in confronting the fire”.
