Volkswagen Shakes Up The Transport Market With The Launch Of The 2025 Truck Line. The Constellation 20.480 4×2, With A 480 Hp Engine And 2,400 Nm Of Torque, Promises To Revolutionize The Segment.

The new truck Constellation 20.480 4×2 promises to be a true revolution in the segment.

With plenty of power, high traction capacity, and technological innovations, this model promises to attract the attention of fleet operators and drivers throughout Brazil. And the best part? The manufacturer is just getting started. There’s much more to come.

The Constellation 20.480 4×2 is one of Volkswagen’s major bets for the year 2025.

Equipped with a 13-liter D26 engine that offers 480 horsepower and an impressive torque of 2,400 Nm, the model stands out not only for its performance but also for its technological sophistication.

The automated ZF V-Tronic 12-speed transmission is another attraction that places the Constellation among the most powerful mechanical horses available in the Brazilian market.

With these attributes, Volkswagen positions itself strongly in the competitive heavy truck segment.

A Powerful Engine And Cutting-Edge Technology

Both the engine and transmission used in the Constellation are the same as those in the Meteor line of the brand.

The model also impresses with its robust chassis and a wheelbase of 3,600 mm, making it an ideal choice for those needing to transport large volumes of cargo.

According to Volkswagen, the vehicle is suitable for a wide range of road implements, further increasing its versatility.

Additionally, the mechanical horse stands out with a GTW (Gross Combined Weight) of 56 tons.

According to Ricardo Alouche, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Volkswagen Trucks and Buses, the Constellation 4×2 has great potential to capture the new vehicle transport segment, such as those used by car carriers.

Power And Practicality For Various Applications

Today, Volkswagen already offers options that support a GTW of up to 45 tons with 4×2 trucks and 58.5 tons for 6×2 models.

However, the Constellation 4×2 positions itself as a highly efficient intermediate alternative.

According to Alouche, the brand has already achieved an 18% market share in heavy trucks with 13-liter engines and power above 420 hp, consolidating its presence among the main competitors.

He also mentioned that there is the possibility of future versions of the Meteor 4×2 with higher power, depending on market demand.

Among the standard features of the Constellation are the auxiliary engine brake with 428 horsepower, in addition to two aluminum tanks with a capacity of 470 liters each.

The integral pneumatic suspension with four adjustable air bags ensures even more efficiency in loading and unloading operations, adjusting to the height of the implement.

Volkswagen: Innovations In The Heavy Segment

In the heavy segment, Volkswagen continues to innovate. Rodrigo Chaves, Vice President of Engineering at the brand, highlighted that the Meteor 29.530 6×4 and Meteor 28.480 6×2 models can now be equipped with optional retarder brakes with 1,225 hp braking power.

In addition, these models are designed to tow trailers with four axles and compositions of up to 58.5 tons GTW, complying with Contran regulation 882/21. This translates into greater traction capacity, durability, and lower maintenance costs.

Volkswagen has also reinforced essential components, such as differentials, bearings, and planetary gears, increasing the lifespan of the trucks and making them more competitive in terms of cost-effectiveness.

The e-Delivery Line And The Future Of Electric Trucks

In the electric truck segment, Volkswagen is not falling behind. The new generation of the e-Delivery promises to be a sustainable and highly efficient solution for cargo transportation.

The 2025 model comes with a 280 kW electric motor, delivering 7% more torque and a DMT (Maximum Traction Capacity) of 15 tons.

The range has also increased by 16%, making the e-Delivery an increasingly attractive option for urban operations.

With the reduction of the tare weight, the payload capacity has been increased to 6.3 tons, while the charging time has been optimized, allowing to reach 80% charge in just one hour.

Embedded Technology: A New Era With The Highline Package

Volkswagen is also keeping an eye on the future of embedded technology.

Starting in 2025, the entire truck line from the brand will feature the Highline package, which includes a 100% digital 10-inch instrument panel and up to 80 functionalities, such as driver performance assessment and pneumatic suspension height control.

In addition, the multimedia system offers more than 30 functionalities, making driving much more practical and safe.

Another highlight is the VWCOnnect app, which literally puts truck control in the palm of the driver’s hand.

Through the mobile phone, the driver can turn the vehicle on and off, as well as access real-time information about the truck’s status and even call ChameVolks for technical assistance.

With so many innovations, the question remains: is Volkswagen about to dominate the truck market in Brazil with its 2025 line? What do you think of the brand’s new technologies and innovations? Share your opinion!

Apesar de todas as inovaçoes, na minha opinião, o motor deveria ser Cummins, que tem maior aceitacão pelo mercado e não o Man que enfrenta alguma rejeição.
