If You Think the Polo Is the King of Popular Cars, You Might Be Wrong! The Volkswagen Fox Has Won the Hearts of Many Brazilian Drivers, and for Good Reasons.
What attracts people the most about the Volkswagen Fox is its combination of low maintenance costs, reliability, and surprisingly spacious interior for a car considered compact. After all, who said size matters? Come see why this little car is making waves!
The Brazilian automotive market is constantly changing, with prices rising and options becoming increasingly limited. However, the 2015 Volkswagen Fox Comfortline 1.6 8v specifically stands out as a viable and extremely attractive option for those looking for a low-maintenance, comfortable, and above all, reliable car.
Engine of the Volkswagen Fox
With a robust and known-for-durability Volkswagen engine, the Fox is one of those cars that “takes a beating.” The Comfortline model, for instance, with the 1.6 engine producing 101 horsepower, offers performance sufficient for urban use and trips without compromising fuel consumption. Its average consumption is around 9 to 10 km/l in the city and 13 to 14 km/l on the highway, depending on the driver’s foot and traffic conditions.

Internal Space? More Than Sufficient!
If you think that compact cars mean tight spaces, you need to get to know the Fox. Despite its length of only 3.86 meters, the car surprises with an interior space that can be larger than that of many compact sedans. “It’s a popular car, but it fits tall people!”, enthusiasts say. With foldable back seats, the trunk can expand from 270 liters to 1,000 liters, giving the Volkswagen Fox impressive versatility for everyday use or even for a family trip.
And we can’t forget to mention the finishing, which even with the use of hard plastic (common in vehicles of this category), delivers a modern and functional look. The Comfortline model, for example, already comes with 15-inch alloy wheels, a key fob, and parking sensors.
Affordable Maintenance, A Crucial Point
Another aspect that puts the Volkswagen Fox ahead of its competitors is its low maintenance cost. Replacing the timing belt, spark plugs, or even shock absorbers doesn’t hit the wallet too hard. For those who want to avoid unpleasant surprises at the garage, the Fox is the right choice. The 1.6 engine, by the way, is known for its durability and simplicity of maintenance, which contributes to its reliability.
The price of parts is affordable, and the shared mechanics with other Volkswagen models helps keep costs low. For example, an oil change with a filter averages around R$ 250, and a complete set of shock absorbers is no more than R$ 900, depending on the brand.
And the Insurance? It Can Be a Point of Attention
The only point that can weigh on the budget is insurance. As a popular car, insurance costs might be slightly higher, especially for younger profiles. However, compared to other cars in the same category, like the Onix or HB20, the Volkswagen Fox still has an advantage, as its theft rate is much lower.
Why Choose the Volkswagen Fox Instead of the Polo?
Besides being more affordable, the Fox is taller and offers a more comfortable driving position for those who prefer a higher view. Many drivers highlight this detail as a strong point of the model. And there’s also the internal space, which, although smaller outside, is surprisingly spacious inside. “You can comfortably take someone who is 1.80m in the back seat,” without any discomfort.
Reliable Volkswagen engine with excellent torque, the Fox is the right choice for those who want performance without sacrificing economy. And, of course, we can’t forget that the Fox, being a Volkswagen model, carries with it the tradition of durability and low maintenance costs, which are distinctive features of the EA111 engine. The market price for the 2015 Volkswagen Fox Comfortline 1.6 8v is around R$ 44,000.
So, Polo or Fox? Which Is the Best?
The Volkswagen Fox has been one of the most recommended cars for those who want a reliable car with great cost-benefit. But what about you, dear reader, what do you think? Do you prefer the Fox or the Polo? Let us know in the comments: which of the two offers more advantages in your daily life?
