As One of the Largest Oil and Gas Producers in the World, Wintershall Has Set Its Eyes on the Potential of Brazilian Oil Reserves and Will Participate in the Upcoming Auctions
Wintershall is a subsidiary of BASF focused on oil and gas, with a strong presence in Norway, Libya, and Russia. It recently announced plans to come to Brazil aiming to expand its global operations. According to Wintershall executives, the Brazilian oil market is one of the most promising globally today, considering the surge in oil production, humorously indicating on their page that the warm climate in Brazil could also be one of the reasons.
In partnership with fellow German company DEA Petroleum, everything indicates that it will already compete for fields in the upcoming rounds. With established partnerships in other countries, Wintershall does not rule out the possibility of also partnering with Statoil and ExxonMobil in Brazil. Wintershall is the largest producer of crude oil and natural gas in Germany. It exports and produces oil and gas in Europe, North Africa, South America, Russia, and the Middle East. It has been active for over 85 years with a workforce of up to 2,000 employees.
