The companies project that, in its first year of life, Evolua Etanol will trade 9 billion liters of the biofuel
Last week, Copersucar, Brazil's largest sugar and ethanol export company, announced the creation of the Evolua Etanol brand, a joint venture formed from the company's association with Vibra Energia, formerly BR Distribuidora. The new platform is dedicated to the trade of ethanol in the national and global markets, with the objective of trading 9 billion liters of biofuel in its first year of life.
Evolua Etanol will have its headquarters in São Paulo and an office in the city of Rio de Janeiro, in addition to having its own governance structure and board. The joint venture will operate with independent management in line with its shareholders, in order to follow the best management and compliance practices.
The venture's share capital is equivalent to the amount of R$ 10 million, of which 50,01% corresponds to Copersucar and 49,99% to Vibra Energia. Furthermore, it is expected that, in the future, an additional R$440 million will be contributed, in proportion to the respective shareholdings of the shareholders.

According to the companies involved, the Evolve Ethanol It will work according to the open platform model, allowing access to all interested agents. In a note, they also informed that their purpose is to enable solutions, integrate and bring efficiency and scale to the market, thus reducing the distances between ethanol producers and consumers throughout Brazil.
In addition, Pedro Paranhos, CEO of Evolua Etanol, declared in a statement that his expectation is to offer all agents in the ethanol market a modern and competitive alternative for trading the biofuel, offering scale and logistical efficiency.
Tomás Caetano Manzano, president of Copersucar, stated that this new open business platform, developed in partnership with Vibra, will take the company to a new level.
The creation of the Evolua Etanol brand will now expand the scale of operations of Vibra Energia and Copersucar, which together were already considered responsible for the largest ethanol trader in Brazil.
Under this bias, Wilson Ferreira Jr., CEO of Vibra Energia, highlighted that this is yet another demonstration of the company's commitment in the search for businesses focused on the transition to cleaner and renewable energy sources and the decarbonization of its operations.
