The Zoomlion crane, founded in 1992, will be assembled to lift the equivalent of more than 600 compact cars to a height of up to 93 m, in a logistics operation treated as “war-like”
The crane ZCC 11000 caught attention when it was unloaded at the port of Vitória, in Espírito Santo, as part of an operation that goes far beyond what the isolated piece suggests. To transport this giant to its final destination, it was necessary to assemble a convoy with 64 trailers, on a journey heading to Ceará.
The reason for the transport is straightforward: the crane will be used in the construction of a wind farm. When all logistics and assembly stages are completed, the equipment will be ready to lift a weight equivalent to more than 600 compact cars to a height of 93 m.
Why this crane required 64 trailers to reach Ceará

The ZCC 11000 does not arrive ready. It disembarks in modules, and each piece counts as part of a special transport, with route planning, escort, and time coordination. This is why the journey between Vitória and Ceará transforms into a large-scale operation.

What makes the case even more striking is the contrast between appearance and reality: looking at a single piece, it seems like ordinary equipment. But the complete set requires heavy logistics to become an operational crane in the field.
What the ZCC 11000 can do when assembled
The central point of the ZCC 11000 is its capacity. Once assembled, the crane can lift the equivalent weight of more than 600 compact cars and operate at a height of 93 m, a level that changes the game in large-scale construction projects.
In projects like wind farms, this means dealing with large and heavy components, where the crane needs to provide reach, stability, and safety margins for serial assembly.
Who is behind the crane: how Zoomlion grew so fast
The ZCC 11000 is manufactured by Zoomlion, a Chinese company that was born in 1992, well after traditional manufacturers like Liebherr, founded in 1949. Even so, in just over three decades, Zoomlion has begun producing some of the largest cranes in the world and expanded its portfolio far beyond construction.
The company’s origin is described as linked to a research institute that existed since 1956 and was associated with the Ministry of Construction of the Chinese government. This placed research and development in the brand’s DNA from the start.
From concrete pumps to a portfolio with over 55 product lines
In its early years, Zoomlion focused on manufacturing concrete pumps, riding the demand generated by China’s rapid urbanization. The growth led the company to go public in 2000, becoming the first Chinese construction machinery manufacturer listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
Then came an aggressive strategy of international acquisitions, with purchases outside China and a milestone in 2008, during the global financial crisis, when the company led a consortium to acquire the Italian Cifa, in a deal valued at over 400 million dollars at the time. The effect was gaining technology, patents, and international credibility.
Today, the brand operates in 10 major categories, with more than 55 product lines, ranging from small equipment to colossal machines like the ZCC 11000.
The plan for Brazil: factory, import, and presence in multiple sectors
The presence in Brazil has been in the works for over a decade. In 2013, Zoomlion announced the construction of its first factory in Latin America, in Indaiatuba, São Paulo, with an initial investment of R$ 20 million, a manufacturing area of 12,000 m², and a goal of producing 100 machines per year. The local focus was on the line of concrete machinery, such as concrete mixers, batching plants, mixers, and truck-mounted pumps.
At the same time, the company maintained an import strategy to offer an “arsenal” of heavy machines in the country. And the crane becomes the most visible symbol of this offensive, with the arrival of the ZCC 11000 in Vitória and the reminder that Brazil had already received a ZCC 7200 installed in Manaus in early 2026, breaking internal records in just a few months.
Why a crane like this is also a market message
The base text points out that Zoomlion seeks to “surround the market from all sides,” serving from construction and logistics to mining and, more recently, agriculture. The entry into the agricultural segment appears linked to participation in fairs and the announcement of an expanded dealer network, focusing on after-sales and parts replacement.
In practice, the message is clear: it is not just about selling a crane, but about building presence, support, and a portfolio to enter large projects and stay.
Which part of this operation impresses you the most: the crane lifting “600 cars” to 93 m, or the convoy with 64 trailers crossing the country to assemble everything in Ceará?
