ZF and Mercedes Benz Trucks Create CO2 Emission-Free and Silent Technology for Electric Truck and Commercial Vehicles.

According to what was informed by ZF and Mercedes Benz in a press conference, they are developing the eWorX technology, which will allow the electric truck to have zero carbon dioxide emissions while also having a quieter technology for its operation on the roads.

According to Wilhelm Rehm, a member of the ZF Global Board, the company is increasingly advanced in developing technologies capable of making commercial vehicles sustainable with lower carbon emissions. The development could help countries that are part of the Paris Agreement significantly reduce their emissions by the year 2030.  The companies MAN and ABB E-mobility are also investing in new technologies for the electric truck that are expected to reach the market by the year 2024. The competition is intense among pioneering brands in the sector.

ZF and Mercedes Benz Trucks are set to equip the electric truck for greater power and quieter operation on the roads

It was informed by ZF that they will be creating a new partnership with Mercedes Benz Trucks to equip their trucks to have lower carbon dioxide emissions during freight operations while being quieter. According to the organization, it is estimated that they will utilize a technology in a two-in-one style.

The two companies also indicated that they would be forming a partnership with Palfinger, which is a world leader in the production of cranes used in large trucks.  The new equipment from the brand was presented this week at a major fair held in Munich, called IFAT 2022. Leaders from multinational brands attended the event and expressed positivity about the discoveries in the sector.

Investment in electric trucks has been a recent discussion in the industry as it would allow for the capability to reduce freight costs and make shipping more affordable for the general public. Not to mention that the electric truck would not emit oxides and sulfates, which are produced after diesel reactions.

New Expansion of Commercial Vehicle Portfolio

Wilhelm Rehm, a member of the ZF Global Board, stated that there is a new expansion of the commercial vehicle portfolio with the discoveries made to automate the automotive industry globally. And, of course, these new developments may soon arrive in Brazil.

The ZF eWorX offers a fully integrated system that emits significantly lower sound levels than previously emitted. In short, electric trucks can operate on both residential and commercial roads.

The motor has a power of  50 kW and includes a converter in its control area that allows for cooling of the hydraulic pump. Its function is to act as a  gateway between the engine and all onboard equipment through seamless communication between CAN bus wires.

The developments of ZF and Mercedes Benz Trucks employ over 26,000 people in at least 28 countries worldwide.
