One of the Highlights of the Event Will Be the Lecture of Minister Bruno Dantas, Acting President of the TCU, Who Will Address the Topic “Future Trends in the Port Sector: A State Planning and Not Government Planning”

The 1st National Congress on Competition and Regulation in the Port Sector, organized by the Institute for Studies in Social Sciences (IE), promises to be a milestone for the debate on the future of the Brazilian port sector. The event, which will be held on May 2nd and 3rd at the Mercure Hotel in Balneário Camboriú, will bring together authorities from the Federal Court of Accounts (TCU), Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE), and National Waterway Transportation Agency (ANTAQ), as well as sector specialists.
One of the highlights of the congress will be the lecture of Minister Bruno Dantas, acting president of the TCU, who will address the topic “Future Trends in the Port Sector: A State Planning and Not Government Planning”. Dantas’ lecture will be a unique opportunity for event participants to learn about the TCU’s vision for the future of the Brazilian port sector and discuss the challenges and opportunities it faces.
The congress will address crucial topics for the future of the sector, such as fair and efficient competition; discussions on the importance of free enterprise and regulation to ensure a competitive and healthy environment for the sector. Another topic to be covered is modern and effective regulation, analyzing how regulation can contribute to port development by promoting efficiency and sustainability.
The event will also debate best practices in corporate governance and compliance to ensure transparency and accountability of companies in the segment, in addition to reflecting on how Brazil can become a more competitive global player. Discussions on the importance of environmental and social sustainability for responsible port development will also be part of the congress program, which will still include the presence of renowned specialists from the port sector who will share their knowledge and experiences with participants.
The 1st National Congress on Competition and Regulation in the Port Sector is sponsored by the Brazilian Association of Port Terminals (ABTP), the Brazilian Association of Container Terminals (Abratec), and the Brazilian Institute of Infrastructure (IBI).
