Even Before Turning Three, British Jude Owens Impresses Guinness World Records by Executing Complex Billiard Shots and Draws Attention from Professional Athletes Around the World

A Precocious Talent That Caught the Attention of Guinness World Records.

There is no minimum age for making history. For this reason, Jude Owens has become a rare example in the realm of precision sports. At just two years old, the British boy achieved two official Guinness World Records (GWR) by executing advanced shots in snooker and billiards, disciplines known for their high technical demands.

The information was released by Guinness World Records, which certified the first achievement on September 1, 2025. At that moment, Jude was 2 years and 261 days old. Thus, he became the youngest person in the world to successfully perform a double shot in snooker.

Shortly thereafter, on October 12, 2025, came the second record. This time, Jude made a billiard shot using the edge of the table, a shot that requires precise calculation of angle, force control, and reading the movement of the balls. In this way, he solidified his name in history of world billiards.

Why Snooker Makes the Feat Even More Impressive

Although many people confuse billiards and snooker, the differences between the modalities help to understand the magnitude of the feat. In snooker, the table is larger, the pockets are narrower, and the margin for error is much smaller. Additionally, the game demands constant strategy and high levels of concentration.

In this context, the double shot gains even more relevance. This type of shot occurs when two balls are legally pocketed in different pockets with just one hit on the cue ball. For this reason, even adult players take years to master the technique.

Still, Jude executed the shot with ease. As a result, the Guinness evaluators had no doubt in recognizing the record. After all, no other similar feat had been recorded at such a young age.

Stimulation, Play, and Learning at the Right Pace

Jude’s contact with billiards started simply. Initially, his father, Luke Owens, acquired a mini pool table adapted for children. The idea, however, was always to turn the game into play, without pressure or demands.

Over time, the boy demonstrated an unusual ability to understand trajectories, effects, and movements of the balls. Thus, he began executing shots with surprising precision for his age.

According to Luke, the focus was never on performance, but on fun. Still, his technical development caught attention. Today, Jude already masters skills that many adults find difficult, such as:

  • Shots with support on the rail
  • Precise control of force and direction
  • Reading angles in confined spaces
  • Floating shots, where the cue ball jumps slightly

To reach the table, Jude still uses a small stool. Even so, he maintains posture, focus, and coordination above what is expected for his age group.

International Recognition and Future Projection

As a consequence of the records, Jude’s talent quickly surpassed the children’s realm. In 2025, he received a special invitation to the British Snooker Championship. Furthermore, he became the youngest known person to receive a sponsorship in the sport.

Simultaneously, Jude has already met renowned professional players, such as Kyren Wilson, John Parrott, and Jimmy White. Meanwhile, his great dream remains to meet Ronnie O’Sullivan, his idol in the sport.

Experts highlight that this case reinforces an important trend. When sport is presented as a playful activity, it contributes to the motor, cognitive, and emotional development of the child. Therefore, Jude’s example also draws attention outside of billiards.

A Record That Goes Beyond Numbers

At two years old, Jude Owens not only broke historical records. More than that, he showed that precocious talent can emerge when there is adequate stimulation, a safe environment, and respect for the child’s pace.

For now, there are no rigid plans for the future. On the contrary, the focus remains on light learning and the joy of playing. Still, the world of snooker watches every new shot from the young Brit with increasing attention.

Do you believe that talent arises naturally or that the right stimulation from an early age makes all the difference?
