The decision to install the company was made at a meeting of the State Council for the Environment (Coema) on the 12th, which approved the company’s environmental impact study and report.
The forecast for the start of construction is for June 2020. By then, 900 jobs will be created directly, and over 3,600 will be generated indirectly. During the operational period, the project will open 40 job positions.
Just last year, Coema authorized 5 clean energy projects, and with this one, it finished the year with 6 projects. Coema’s approval is a condition for the State Superintendency of the Environment (Semace) to issue the installation license to the interested party.
According to the president of Coema and also the Secretary of the Environment of Ceará, Artur Bruno, the project’s initiative is of utmost importance and he also highlighted the strategy of the Government of Ceará to increase revenue generation in the interior.
