The works will be to build the Alex photovoltaic solar complex, which will be made up of nine plants with a nominal power of 278 megawatts of electricity. The plants will be housed in an area of 908 hectares.
The decision to set up the company was made at a meeting of the State Council for the Environment (Coema), on the 12th, which approved the company's environmental impact study and report.
The forecast for the start of works is for June 2020. By then, 900 jobs will be directly generated and more than 3,6 will be generated indirectly. During the operational period, the project will create 40 jobs.
Last year alone, Coema authorized 5 clean energy projects and with this one, it ended the year with 6 projects. Coema approval is a condition for the State Environment Superintendence (Semace) to issue the installation license to the interested party.
According to the President of Coema and also Secretary of the Environment of Ceará, Artur Bruno, the project's initiative is of paramount importance and also highlighted the strategy of the Government of Ceará to increase revenue generation in the countryside.
