IT Technician from Northern Minas Adapts Trailer with Recycled Materials to Create Family Outings, Touching Internet Users and Accumulating Over 8 Million Views on Social Media
Creativity, affection, and simplicity. These were the ingredients that transformed an ordinary outing into a phenomenon on social media. In Montes Claros, in Northern Minas Gerais, a resident decided to combine imagination and love for family to create something different. The result was a handmade “bitrem” attached to a bicycle, used to take his young son and the family dog out for a walk.
The information was shared by g1 Grande Minas, according to a report published on November 16, 2025, which showed how the initiative gained national attention. According to the portal, the video surpassed 8.2 million views in just a few days, sparking curiosity and emotion in thousands of people.
Idea Born from the Desire to Create Moments Between Father and Son
The protagonist of this story is Patrick Veloso, an IT technician and resident of Montes Claros. He decided to adapt a bicycle trailer with a clear goal: to create experiences with his 5-year-old son Ethan, and also include the family dog, Rocky, a golden retriever.

According to Patrick, the idea came from an old desire to do something special with his son. Therefore, he resolved to share the plan with the boy even before starting the construction. “I wanted to do something father and son. So I told Ethan that I was thinking of adapting a trailer on the bike so we could go for walks together,” he recounted. As soon as he heard the proposal, the boy got excited and accepted right away.
From that moment on, the project became more than just a mechanical adaptation. It turned into a shared activity, full of conversations, ideas, and the child’s active participation at every stage.
Handmade Bitrem Made with Recycled Materials and Creativity

To bring the idea to life, Patrick drew inspiration from existing bicycle trailer models on the market. However, as none met his needs, he decided to create his own version. Thus, a “bitrem” with two wagons was born, allowing both the son and the dog to travel together, but each in their own space.
The structure was built with about six meters of steel tubing, in addition to cargo cart wheels, recycled car tires, and plastic chairs used as seats. Additionally, to connect the parts of the trailer, Patrick reused automotive parts, such as a bicycle and a car steering joint.
According to him, the entire process was intuitive. “I didn’t make any drawings; it was all straight from my head to the project,” he explained. At the same time, the son participated actively. “Ethan helped me with everything, from ideas to assembly,” he added.
Outings Attract Attention and Spread Joy Through the Streets
Once completed, the “bitrem” became part of the family’s routine, especially on weekends. During the outings, the bike with its two wagons draws attention wherever it goes. As a result, neighbors, pedestrians, and drivers stop to watch, take photos, and record videos.
“People are enchanted, they call their neighbors, film, and take pictures. It’s great to see so much joy,” reported Patrick. Moreover, the dog Rocky also seems to have approved the invention. According to the technician, the animal already shows excitement just by seeing the bike ready to go out.
This light and spontaneous atmosphere contributed to the video spreading rapidly on social media. Consequently, the story exceeded the limits of the mining city and reached millions of people across the country.
Viral Project Carries a Message About Fatherhood and Affection
Despite the repercussion, Patrick emphasizes that the goal was never to become famous. In fact, the initiative was born from the desire to create lasting emotional memories with his son. For him, the value of the project goes far beyond the views.
“The message I leave is about exercising creativity and including children in activities,” he said. According to Patrick, these simple moments turn into memories that accompany the child for life. “In such a superficial world, I think it’s important to build genuine moments,” he concluded.
Thus, the handmade “bitrem” became more than just a curious trailer. It became a symbol of presence, care, and family connection, showing that memorable experiences do not depend on large investments, but on time and dedication.
Simple Initiative Inspires Thousands of People on Social Media
The story of Patrick, Ethan, and Rocky shows that creative ideas, when driven by affection, have great power of identification. By transforming a bicycle into a family vehicle, the resident of Minas managed to touch internet users and inspire other parents to rethink how to spend time with their children.
In this way, the viral video not only entertains but also invites reflection on coexistence, creativity, and the importance of valuing the small moments of everyday life.
