US Residents Are Reporting Cases Of Exposure To A Mysterious Fog Described As Having A “Strong Smell” And Causing Symptoms Of Discomfort Few Minutes After Contact. Authorities Are Investigating The Phenomenon.

Parts of the United States have recently been covered by a dense and unusual fog, described as a “mysterious mist” by local residents. The phenomenon has raised concerns, especially due to reports of a strong “chemical” smell and flu-like symptoms after brief exposures.

A resident of Florida shared with the Daily Mail his alarming experience: “In about an hour, I kept sneezing non-stop for about three hours, and my eyes were really swollen. I felt very hot, as if I had a fever, and my stomach was cramping.” The exposure to the mist lasted only 10 minutes.

Additionally, images circulating on social media show particles floating in the mist, prompting theories that the phenomenon might be related to biological experiments or unnatural events.

Mist Recalled The Secret Operation Of The 1950s

The situation has rekindled memories of the so-called “Operation Sea-Spray,” conducted by the US Navy in 1950.

In this experiment, the bacteria serratia marcescens and bacillus globigii were sprayed over the area of San Francisco Bay to assess the vulnerability of major cities to biological attacks.

The test resulted in at least one death and several severe illnesses, raising ethical and public safety concerns.

Although there is no official confirmation of any connection between the current mist and similar actions, the history of US government experiments fuels suspicions on social media.

Social Media And Conspiracies

Conspiracy theories have spread rapidly. Users on TikTok and the X platform (formerly Twitter) have shared accounts and videos. Many claim that the mist has a strange smell and a metallic taste, described as similar to the smell of sulfur or fireworks.

A popular video shows a user reporting: “The taste and smell are like after letting off a lot of fireworks. That sulfur smell. It’s freaking me out.

Another resident from Kansas reported seeing “large amounts of chemtrails” in the sky before the mist formed in her area.

Furthermore, the mist has been nicknamed “Fogvid-24” by users, in reference to the physical impact caused. Reports of unexplained fatigue after exposure have also been highlighted, increasing panic in some states.

Natural Explanation For The Phenomenon

Experts in meteorology and environmental health, however, offer more plausible and less alarming explanations.

The mist, technically a formation of water droplets or ice crystals near the Earth’s surface, occurs when the air reaches its dew point – the moment when its maximum capacity for moisture retention is attained. This saturation, combined with pollutants present in the air, can create characteristic odors, especially in urban areas.

“It is common for mist to absorb pollutants and smells from the environment. This could explain the pungent odor reported by many residents,” explained an expert to the Daily Mail.

Additionally, direct lighting of the mist, as shown in videos on social media, can highlight floating particles, creating an unusual and perhaps alarming visual aspect.

Climatic Factors And Fog Season

The formation of fog is more frequent in the fall and winter months when lower temperatures favor the phenomenon.

Experts indicate that the increase in reports may be related to typical weather conditions for this time of year.

Although fog is generally harmless, it can cause respiratory discomfort due to high humidity levels, especially for people with pre-existing conditions like asthma.

As official investigations continue, the recommendation is simple: avoid prolonged exposure to the mist, especially in areas where symptoms have been reported.

Relevant Information

Despite the impact caused, health and meteorological authorities have not yet found concrete evidence that the phenomenon is related to intentional human actions.

Additional atmospheric studies have been initiated to determine if there is anything unusual in the chemical composition of the mist observed in recent days.
