Project In The Backpack to Take About 40 Members to Canada
The Cespbots team is part of the Project In The Backpack, an organization from Médio Piracicaba focused on training young people in technology and educational robotics.
The expectation is to take approximately 40 students and technicians to the world championship.
Despite the confirmed qualification, participation in the event depends on financial support. The estimated cost is approximately R$ 24 thousand per competitor.
This amount includes expenses for travel, registration, and the technical kit necessary for the international educational robotics competition.
The Boy’s Interest in Robotics Began at Three Years Old
According to the family, Miguel showed interest in Lego from the age of three. His exposure to robotics classes at school expanded his involvement in the field.
According to his parents, he began to realize that he could bring life to the creations he built. Over time, his interest grew, and the family started to see potential for a future in technology.
The achievement at FIRA Brazil was described as a moment of joy. His parents stated that seeing their son’s happiness and dedication in pursuing his chosen path was a source of pride.
Social Project Has Operated in Four Cities Since 2020
Founded in 2020, the Project In The Backpack delivers innovation and technology education to students from public schools in Nova Era, João Monlevade, São Domingos do Prata, and Rio Piracicaba.
The initiative aims to broaden access to STEAM education, which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics, in addition to developing creativity, logical reasoning, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
With a focus on programming and educational robotics, the project has gathered results in national and international competitions.
In 2024, students participated in FIRA Brazil in Maranhão and secured a spot in the FIRA RoboWorld Cup, held in Daegu, South Korea.
On that occasion, the group won a silver medal in the U14 Impossible Mission category in the programming challenge, putting Minas Gerais in the spotlight at the world festival.
