Free and Completely Online Training
According to the notice, the Portuguese as an Additional Language – PLA course has a total duration of 250 hours, distributed over approximately four months.
The organization plans for 15 weeks of classes, between March and July 2026, with mandatory online meetings of two hours per week, conducted via a videoconferencing platform.
All activities are offered remotely, with no registration or monthly fees.
The course is classified as an extension program, and at the end, students who meet the evaluation and attendance criteria will have the right to a certificate issued by IFSP.
To obtain the certificate, participants need to achieve a minimum score of 60% on the assessment activities.
It is also necessary to register at least 75% effective participation in the tasks proposed throughout the course.
Target Audience and Criteria for Participation

Those who cannot prove this requirement may be disqualified at any stage of the selection process.
In total, 100 spots are offered, distributed in online classes with different days and times.
A simple registration does not guarantee a spot, as classification takes into account the order of valid applications submitted.
Class Schedules and Operation of Class Groups
The notice provides five options for class groups, all in remote mode, to accommodate candidates with varying routines.
There are two alternatives on Saturdays, from 9 AM to 11 AM and from 12 PM to 2 PM. There is also an option on Mondays, from 8 PM to 10 PM.

Duplicate registrations or those made outside the established period may be rejected.
The online classes will be conducted via a videoconferencing platform indicated by IFSP after confirmation of registration.
The course also includes complementary activities and support materials, accessed in a virtual environment.
Selection Process and Official Calendar
The selection process uses a simple criterion: order of registration, respecting the limit of spots.
The first applications that fully meet the requirements will be automatically classified.
Those who register after the 100 spots are filled will go to the waiting list.
Exceeding candidates can be called in case of withdrawals throughout March 2026.
The registration period runs from 10 AM on November 26, 2025, to 11:59 PM on February 1, 2026, Brasília time.
After the deadline, IFSP will announce the list of registrations made on February 3, 2026.

A new appeals period will occur on February 10 and 11. The final result of the approved registrations should be announced on February 12, 2026.

In the case of withdrawal, the student may be barred from reapplying for the notice in the following year.
How to Register for the Free IFSP Course
The registrations are made exclusively online, through a specific electronic form.
Access to the form is provided on the São Paulo Campus page of IFSP, in the section for registrations related to the Portuguese as an Additional Language – PLA course.
The candidate needs to fill in the required data, choose only one of the class schedules, and submit the registration within the period indicated in the schedule.
