Notice 25/2025 Details Rules and Official Communication
The selection of candidates is regulated by the Notice No. 25, dated November 25, 2025, published by the Benjamin Constant Institute.
The document governs the offer of vacancies for the postgraduate lato sensu course in Discursive Literacy in Visual Impairment, offered by the Department of Postgraduate Studies, Research, and Extension in partnership with the UAB program.
The notice establishes the official course website as the central channel for disseminating information, results, and communications related to the selection process.
It also indicates the institutional email as a means of contacting the coordination for questions and guidance about the selection and the progress of the course.
All communication with candidates occurs through digital means, and it is the applicant’s responsibility to monitor publications and keep their contact information updated.
EAD Structure, Moodle, and Mandatory Synchronous Meetings
The specialization is offered exclusively in the EAD modality, with the development of disciplines on the Moodle platform.
In this environment, students access forums, chats, video lectures, podcasts, digital texts, and other accessible materials.
It is the student’s responsibility to ensure the necessary equipment and connection to participate in activities.
The course includes mandatory synchronous and asynchronous activities, as well as optional in-person actions.
Virtual meetings take place biweekly on Tuesdays at 7 PM via the course channel on YouTube and count towards attendance.
Those who cannot attend live may record their participation later using a specific form.
The curriculum is organized into four modules and includes 14 subjects, including special education fundamentals, biopsychosocial development, literacy in the Braille System, print literacy for low vision, mathematical literacy, information and communication technologies applied to literacy, production of specialized materials, audio description, and course completion project.
Upon completion of the activities and with the final project approved, the student receives the title of specialist in Discursive Literacy in Visual Impairment.
Central Contents: Braille, Low Vision, and Assistive Technologies
Although it addresses literacy, the course expands the perspective on pedagogical practices for children with visual impairments.
The proposal combines Braille, print literacy, assistive technologies, games, and adapted materials from a discursive perspective, integrating critical theory and practical action.
The goal is to prepare professionals to work directly in the school environment, mastering accessible teaching resources, audio description, and digital support tools.
Who Can Apply for the Selection Process
The process is intended for professionals graduated in Pedagogy, Special Education, Rural Education, Speech Therapy, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Higher Normal or various Licentiates, with diplomas recognized by the Ministry of Education (MEC).
It is a requirement that the candidate has knowledge and practice in reading and writing in the Braille System, declared on the application form.
The notice does not require immediate proof but provides for subsequent verifications.
Students in the final phase of their degree may participate, provided they present an official statement ensuring that graduation will occur before enrollment.
Diplomas obtained abroad must be validated by a Brazilian institution.
