Balneário Camboriú, known as the “Millionaires’ City,” debuts this Friday the so-called “Times Square of BC”, a project that aims to recreate New York’s atmosphere in the heart of the city. The novelty combines urban media technology with a hub of gastronomy and culture.
According to the creators, the goal is to provide an immersive experience that engages residents and visitors during the summer.
The center of the project is a 5D LED circular screen. Due to its scale, it will integrate the skyline of the downtown area and compete for the attention of the intense pedestrian traffic in the region. The promise is for advertising and artistic content with high visual impact.

The equipment measures 11.5 meters tall and 9.6 meters wide, proportions equivalent to a five-story building. The circular screen was designed to display 5D pieces, blending optical illusion and perspective to enhance the realism of campaigns and artistic interventions.
The installation is located at the corner of Brasil and Alvin Bauer Avenues, a high-traffic address, estimated at over 12,000 pedestrians per day. As a result, the organizers hope to maximize reach and brand recall for advertisers and cultural projects.
According to local media, the curation plans to feature interactive content, advertising, and special screenings on commemorative dates, aiming to transform the location into a postcard and a reference for tourism in Balneário Camboriú.
New York Food Lounge: 1,500 m², 26 Stores, and Inspiration from High Line and Chelsea Market
On the same day, the New York Food Lounge will open, a gastronomic and cultural complex of 1,500 m², with 26 stores, two floors, capacity for 350 people, a children’s area, and delivery service. The operation will start with a soft open and will gradually expand the mix of options.
The aesthetic and experiential proposal aims at references from New York, such as High Line, Meatpacking District, and Chelsea Market, with lighting and ambiance reminiscent of the skyscraper capital. The curation intends to unite street food, cocktail bars, and seasonal events.
For the local trade, the combination of outdoor digital media and food hall creates a place for visitors to linger, encouraging more time spent downtown and, consequently, a larger ticket in surrounding commerce. The expectation is for synergy with nearby hotels and attractions.
Programming: Special Christmas and New Year Countdown “à la Times Square”
In addition to the opening, activations such as a Christmas Special on December 7 and a New Year Countdown in the New York style have already been confirmed. The intention is to establish the location as a stage for end-of-year events, expanding the entertainment agenda in the city.
The actions are expected to explore the 5D screen with thematic snippets, artist drops, and public interaction mechanics.
For the turn of the year, the visual countdown on the screen aims to replicate the experience of major urban squares worldwide, in a version adapted to the Santa Catarina context.
In regional tourism, the understanding is that the calendar can prolong the average stay and distribute traffic better among beaches, gastronomy, and shopping, creating a more robust urban circuit. The trade is monitoring developments to measure impacts.
