Registrations End on the 24th and Guarantee Access to Free Technical Courses Offered by Cefet/RJ

Cefet/RJ has opened registrations for hundreds of free slots distributed among various units in the state, and like traditional public selections, the process offers alternatives for both those who have completed high school and students who wish to enter technical education while still enrolled in another institution. Furthermore, the selection confirms the exam for December and reinforces the institution’s historical tradition in public technical training.

The Federal Center for Technological Education Celso Suckow da Fonseca reported that registrations remain open until November 24, covering 390 slots distributed across two distinct selection processes. All opportunities are free and, consequently, part of courses recognized for the excellence of the federal network. According to the schedule released by the Instituto Selecon, the organization responsible for the process, the objective test will be applied on December 14, while the final result is expected on January 26, 2026, ensuring a clear timeline for applicants.

What Is at Stake: Modalities, Courses, and Slot Distribution

The announcement opens opportunities in two entry modalities that cater to different candidate profiles. Therefore, both those who have completed high school and those who are still in this stage can apply for a slot and thus enter free technical education.

Technical Courses Subsequent to High School

The process for subsequent courses brings together 350 slots aimed at candidates who have already completed high school. These slots are distributed between open competition and eight modalities of quotas, reinforcing the inclusion policy adopted by the institution.

The division by unit is defined as follows:

  • 280 slotsMaracanã Unit
  • 70 slotsMaria da Graça Unit

The courses offered follow the tradition of Cefet/RJ and also meet industrial, administrative, and technological demands. The list includes:

  • Maracanã Unit: Administration, Civil Engineering, Electronics, Electrotechnics, Mechanics, Occupational Safety, and Telecommunications
  • Maria da Graça Unit: Occupational Safety and Renewable Energies

As a result, candidates find diverse options that are in high demand, especially due to Cefet/RJ’s recognition in the national technical education landscape.

Technical Courses in External Concurrent Enrollment — Angra dos Reis

In addition to slots for high school graduates, Cefet/RJ also offers opportunities for students who wish to pursue technical education simultaneously with traditional high school. Thus, the Angra dos Reis unit offers:

  • 40 free slots
  • Course: Technical in Mechanics

This modality, called External Concurrent Enrollment, allows students to enhance their education while attending another school, which strengthens the professional and educational versatility of participants.

Registrations, Fees, and Planned Stages

The registration period, which remains active until November 24, requires candidates to access the Instituto Selecon website, complete the form thoroughly, and subsequently pay the fee of R$ 45.00. Additionally, confirmation only occurs after bank clearance, emphasizing the importance of not delaying the process until the last moment.

The announcement emphasizes that candidates must carefully read all the rules before completing registration. This way, they avoid errors that could hinder the registration process.

How the Selection Will Be Conducted and What to Study

The selection process will consist of a single stage, with an objective test containing 20 questions, being:

  • 15 in Mathematics
  • 5 in Portuguese Language

The assessment will be applied on December 14, and all instructions regarding the location and time will be announced by the organizing body. Although the announcement does not provide details on the contents, it reinforces that the structure is standardized and, therefore, requires candidates to direct their studies exclusively to the two subjects assessed.

Technical Courses: Overview of the Offered Areas

The majority of the slots are concentrated in traditionally sought-after areas, precisely because they are part of Cefet/RJ’s educational history. This set includes areas related to infrastructure, industry, management, technology, safety, and energy. Thus, candidates find opportunities such as:

  • Administration
  • Civil Engineering
  • Electronics
  • Electrotechnics
  • Mechanics
  • Occupational Safety
  • Telecommunications
  • Renewable Energies

These programs are in high demand in the job market and thus represent a promising pathway for entry or professional repositioning.

Administration, Infrastructure, Industry, and Energy: Possible Pathways

The announcement considers diverse profiles and, in this way, opens space for candidates interested in administrative areas as well as those who wish to enter industrial and technological sectors. The Maracanã unit offers broad and varied training, while Maria da Graça focuses on energy and safety, reinforcing its technical vocation. Meanwhile, Angra dos Reis presents a focus on Mechanics, aligned with the regional productive landscape.

Official Schedule: Essential Dates for Candidates

The selection process defines a straightforward and easy-to-follow calendar:

  • November 24 — End of registrations
  • December 14 — Application of the objective test
  • January 26, 2026 — Publication of the final result

The Instituto Selecon will be responsible for publishing all information, summons, and updates, which requires constant monitoring by the candidates.

General Rules and Final Guidelines for Candidates

To participate, it is essential to follow the requirements of the announcement, which regulates registration criteria, assessment structure, and participation requirements. Additionally, it is crucial to track all stages, ensuring that no communication is missed during the selection process.
