Assembly in Anápolis, Local Production, and What We Know About the UNI-T Before Its Store Launch
CAOA Changan has confirmed the UNI-T as the brand’s first launch in Brazil, scheduled to debut in March, with national assembly in Anápolis (GO).
Production will take place at the same factory where the group already assembles models from Caoa Chery and is part of the industrial modernization plan announced in recent years.
This move comes as the group also operates in the higher value-added segment with the Avatr 11, an electric model that has already had pre-reserve actions announced.

Production of the Caoa Changan UNI-T in Anápolis and Investment in the Factory
CAOA reported that it plans to manufacture three models from Changan in Anápolis (GO) as part of its unit expansion project.
The group announced in 2023 an investment of R$ 3 billion to modernize the factory, updating processes and preparing for new products.
With the changes, the plant will operate at a greater capacity than before, as reported by the group and specialized publications.

The strategy includes increasing the annual volume of the complex and sustaining market share goals by combining the operations of Chery and Changan in the country.
In addition to the UNI-T, the company stated that it should detail additional information about the industrial project in the coming weeks and mentioned a new investment.
The amount was not disclosed, but according to CAOA, it will be fully funded by the Brazilian group.
Production Regime: Piece-by-Piece Import and Component Nationalization
According to CAOA Changan, the UNI-T will not be assembled in CKD or SKD, modalities that use disassembled or semi-disassembled kits.
The company describes the process as piece-by-piece import, where components arrive separately and the vehicle is assembled in Brazil without pre-organized kits.
The brand also stated that some components will be nationalized from the start of the project.
However, which items will enter this initial phase have not been publicly detailed.
Gasoline Versions at Launch and Plans for Hybrids and Electric Vehicles
Information gathered by specialized outlets indicates that the plan is to sell the UNI-T in Brazil only in gasoline versions, without electrification at launch.
CAOA, on the other hand, claims that it intends to offer different technologies in the country, citing plug-in hybrid models, electric vehicles, and also REEV, an acronym used for electric vehicles with range extenders.

In this scenario, other Changan SUVs have already been associated with testing in Brazil, according to sightings published by industry sites.
However, the company did not present an official timeline for these upcoming products in the UNI-T announcement.
1.5 Turbo Engine, Dual-Clutch Transmission, and Technical Specifications in Brazil
In the Chinese market, the UNI-T is equipped with a 1.5 turbo gasoline engine producing 188 hp and 30.5 kgfm, with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
These figures refer to the model specification sold in China, and CAOA has not yet disclosed the complete Brazilian technical specifications, including possible calibrations and final items for the country.
The brand states that the SUV has been “adapted and planned exclusively for the Brazilian market,” referring to the product adaptation process.
Details such as versions, equipment, and commercial positioning are expected to be presented closer to the start of sales, according to the company itself.
Design of the UNI-T and Dimensions of a Mid-Size SUV in the Brazilian Market
In the design of the Chinese model, the UNI-T features a large front grille with three-dimensional elements and narrower LED headlights.
At the rear, there is a V-shaped spoiler and four exhaust outlets, along with flush door handles.
In Brazil, the UNI-T has already been seen undergoing tests as documented in the specialized press.
Despite this, CAOA did not disclose a complete set of official images of the vehicle intended for our market in the initial announcement.

In the cabin, the standard follows what is seen in other launches from Chinese brands, with integrated screens.
The Chinese model uses a 10.3-inch instrument cluster and a multimedia center with the same size screen.
In terms of dimensions, the UNI-T measures 4.51 m in length, 1.87 m in width, 1.56 m in height, and has a wheelbase of 2.71 m.
For comparison, it is close to the Toyota Corolla Cross in length (4.46 m) and has a wheelbase on par with larger models produced by the group itself, such as the Caoa Chery Tiggo 8, cited as a reference by industry publications.
What Has Yet to Be Disclosed: Price, Versions, Equipment, and Warranty
Despite the confirmation of the launch and local assembly, CAOA Changan has not yet published information considered central for the consumer, such as price, versions, complete equipment list, and warranty conditions.
These points typically define the positioning of the model against competitors and influence retail competitiveness.
Another aspect that remains open is the list of items that will be nationalized from the start, a topic mentioned by the company without details.
The final Brazilian technical specifications are also pending, with any differences in performance, consumption, and specifications compared to the Chinese model.
