Free National Training by Fiocruz Opens Thousands of Slots for SUS Preceptors, with Hybrid Education, Recognized Certification, and Offer Distributed by Institutions Across the Country.
The Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, through the Joaquim Venâncio Polytechnic School of Health (EPSJV), has 4,249 slots open for the Specialization Course in Preceptorship for Professional Education in Health, focusing on Primary Care and Health Surveillance.
The postgraduate program is free, offered in hybrid education, has a minimum workload of 360 hours, is expected to start in January 2026, and is aimed at preceptors of the More Health with Agent Program, already selected by the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS).
The selection is part of the 2nd Public Call of the project Strengthening Professional Education in Health within the Unified Health System (EdProfSUS), an initiative that brings together the Ministry of Health, EPSJV/Fiocruz, SUS Technical Schools, Public Health Schools, and educational institutions from all regions of the country.

Training for SUS Preceptors
The Specialization Course in Preceptorship for Professional Education in Health is designed for those who support, guide, and evaluate the training of health agents at the SUS front line, especially within the More Health with Agent Program.
This federal program seeks to strengthen Primary Care and Health Surveillance by qualifying Community Health Agents and Epidemic Control Agents who work daily in the territories.
By focusing on professional education linked to work in services, the specialization aims to deepen the training of preceptors, providing theoretical foundations, pedagogical tools, and discussion about the work process in health.
The emphasis on Primary Care and Health Surveillance aims to reinforce the integration between clinical care, health promotion actions, and risk monitoring.
EPSJV coordinates the national offer in partnership with a network of schools and certifying institutions distributed across the states, allowing participants to connect with hubs near their regions.
Structure of Fiocruz’s Free Specialization
The specialization has a workload of 360 hours, organized in a hybrid modality.
Of this total, 40 hours are in-person, distributed over five meetings of eight hours, held over approximately eight months.
The remaining activities occur online, with synchronous and asynchronous moments in a virtual learning environment.
Preceptors who have already completed the extension course at UFRGS under the More Health with Agent program may transfer 60 hours, increasing the total to 420 hours.
Virtual classes address the organization of work in Primary Care, integration between care and surveillance, fundamentals of professional education, and specificities of preceptorship in SUS.
In-person meetings deepen the discussion of case studies, strengthen the bond between preceptors and partner institutions, and support the development of projects applied to the territories.
To participate in the course, the participant must have regular internet access and a compatible electronic device.
Attendance at in-person meetings is mandatory for obtaining the certificate.
Who Can Fill the 4,249 Available Slots
The slots are exclusively intended for preceptors already selected by UFRGS to operate in the More Health with Agent Program.
Only active preceptors registered in the university’s database by November 28, 2025, may apply.
In addition to this affiliation, it is necessary to have a degree recognized by MEC and present all required documentation.
The document analysis occurs in two stages: initial verification by partner schools and subsequent validation by EPSJV.
Certification Recognized by MEC
Upon completing the course, the participant will receive a lato sensu postgraduate certificate, issued by EPSJV/Fiocruz and the responsible certifying institution.
Fiocruz is accredited by the Ministry of Education to offer lato sensu specializations, ensuring national validity of the certificates.
The qualification can be used in selection processes, career advancement, and proof of education when legislation requires specialization.
How to Enroll in Fiocruz’s Free Specialization
Applications for the 2nd Public Call of the specialization are made exclusively online, in the Academic Management System of EPSJV/Fiocruz, accessed through the EdProfSUS page.
The candidate must locate the call for preceptors of the More Health with Agent Program, fill out the form, attach the requested documents, indicate the nearest institution, and submit everything by December 14.
The results of the applications are expected to be announced on December 19, 2025, also on the EdProfSUS page.
