Ford launches free program in Bahia to train low-income youth in technology. Course includes financial assistance and employability.

Ford returns with the < Enter > program, offering free programming training. The action reinforces the company's social commitment, connecting education and employability.

In the technology and education scenario, an innovative program emerges with the promise of transforming lives and markets.

Ford, which years ago ended vehicle production in Brazil, is making a remarkable comeback, but with a new focus: technological training for low-income young people and adults.

What motivated this change and how does it impact the future of the participants and the region?

Ford returns with a social and technological focus

Ford announced the program Ford < Enter > in Bahia, a project that seeks to train people for the technology market with an emphasis on employability.

In partnership with SENAI CIMATEC and other institutions, the program offers free front-end programming courses, without requiring prior knowledge.

In addition, it includes benefits such as transportation and food allowance, educational support, social assistance and a diploma recognized by SENAI.

According to Pamela Paiffer, Director of Communications and Social Responsibility for Ford South America, the program reflects the company's commitment to community development:

“This program gives participants the opportunity to build a qualified career, develop their potential and achieve a better life through education.”

Learning path and focus on employability

The training, which will have its first class in January 2025, includes a complete technical and behavioral training path.

Highlights include classes in technical English, logic, socio-emotional skills and lectures on innovations in technology.

The course lasts 300 hours and will be held in two locations in Salvador: CIMATEC Piatã and CIMATEC Digital, in Pelourinho.

The choice of Pelourinho as the headquarters for one of the classes was strategic. The campus, which is part of the Salvador do Futuro Program, seeks to boost the creative and technological economy of the region, attracting startups and innovative companies.

Another difference in the project is its active referral to the job market, with support in preparing for interviews and developing behavioral skills.

“Our methodology combines technical and socio-emotional training, allowing participants to be truly ready for the challenges of the market,” says Leone Andrade, general director of SENAI CIMATEC.

Expansion and regional impact

The Ford < Enter > program is nothing new: it was initially launched in 2022, in São Paulo, and soon achieved impressive numbers.

There were more than 9.000 applicants for 200 vacancies, with students hired before even completing their training.

The success motivated expansion to other states and countries in South America, such as Argentina, Chile, Peru and Colombia.

In Bahia, Ford plans to serve 300 students throughout 2025. The first class will have 50 participants, and registration is now open.

Young people aged 16 and over, with ongoing or completed secondary education and a family income of up to four minimum wages can participate.

A changing market

The initiative comes in a context of high demand for qualified professionals. It is estimated that, by 2025, Brazil will face a deficit of more than 500 professionals in the technology area.

At the same time, there is a large population without access to quality education.

According to Pamela Paiffer, the Ford < Enter > connects these two realities, offering training in strategic areas for the future of the automotive and technology sector.

The relevance of this program also extends to its economic impact.

With the Ford Development and Technology Center in Bahia, the region becomes a technological hub, employing more than 1.500 specialists who develop global functionalities for the brand's vehicles.

Partnerships strengthen the program

The success of Ford < Enter > depends on solid partnerships. SENAI CIMATEC leads technical training, while Rede Cidadã is responsible for recruiting students and preparing their socio-emotional skills.

Keure Oliveira, director of Rede Cidadã, highlighted the transformative impact of the initiative: “Companies will receive better prepared professionals with a different view of life and work.”

A promising future?

With an innovative approach and concrete benefits for participants, Ford < Enter > promises not only to transform lives, but also to contribute to the technological and economic advancement of Bahia and Brazil.

Could initiatives like this be the key to reducing the shortage of professionals and generating new opportunities in the technology market?

How to Apply

Registration is open until January 2025. Interested parties should access the Ford official website < Enter > and check the participation criteria. Don't miss the chance to transform your life through technological education!

Ford is the worst example of a company. And the title of the article is even worse! What's the return? All the other manufacturers are investing billions in multi-year plans and this crook just wants the bonuses without the burden of market risks.
This matter is regrettable
