Study Shows That 98% Of Brazilian Professionals Already Trust AI To Assist In Delivery Of Quality Software

According to the Quality Transformation Report 2025, released in March 2025 by Tricentis, a global leader in continuous testing and quality engineering, 50% of Brazilian companies reported annual losses of US$ 1 million to US$ 5 million due to software failures or the constant need for maintenance.

This survey, which interviewed 2,750 IT professionals from 10 countries, highlighted a challenging scenario for the technology sector in Brazil and Latin America. However, it also pointed out increasingly present solutions, such as the accelerated adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and automation.

Key Sectors Impacted by Software Failures

According to the report, the sectors that reported the most significant losses were:

  • Financial (54%)
  • Public Sector (50%)
  • Retail (43%)
  • Energy (39%)
  • Industry (35%)

In all these cases, the losses reached amounts exceeding US$ 5 million.

Furthermore, the report showed that 75% of Latin American organizations admitted to making code changes without complete testing to gain speed. This practice, however, compromises reliability and increases the risk of disruptions.

As highlighted by Tonatiuh Barradas, Vice President of Tricentis for Latin America, in 2025:
“The reliability of software has become an imminent risk, affecting the operation, reputation, and finances of companies”.

Risk of Disruptions Concerns Brazilian and Latin American Companies

According to the survey:

  • 56% of Brazilian companies reported being exposed to software disruptions every year.
  • In Latin America, this number rises to 68%.
  • Smaller companies (between 150 and 249 employees) are even more vulnerable, with 88% reporting this concern.
  • In the industrial sector, 73% of organizations in the region also declared themselves exposed to this risk.

Pressure for Speed and Internal Challenges Impact Quality

Among the causes for the increase in risks, the following stand out:

  • Pressure to Accelerate Deliveries (37%).
  • Communication Failures Between Leaders and Testers (35%).
  • Frustration with Initial Results from AI Use (34%).

In Brazil, 36% of companies stated that the pursuit of speed is one of the biggest barriers faced in the development process.

Artificial Intelligence and Automation Gaining Ground as Solutions

Despite the challenges, the outlook is one of optimism with the use of emerging technologies:

  • 94% of Latin American companies plan to expand the use of AI for software testing.
  • In the energy sector, this intention reaches 98%.
  • In Brazil, 100% of companies reported plans to adopt AI in the fault detection process and acceleration of processes.

Additionally, 98% of Brazilian professionals expressed confidence in the use of autonomous agents for decision-making and improving software delivery.

As Barradas explained:
“There is a growing awareness that quality and speed can go hand in hand with the support of AI”.

Strategies and Expansion of Tricentis in Latin America

To overcome the sector’s challenges, Latin American organizations have been prioritizing:

  • Acceleration of Software Development and Delivery (51%).
  • Improvement of Quality (49%).
  • Automation of Manual Processes (45%).
  • Migration to the Cloud (48%).

In Brazil, the focus on quality appears as a priority strategy. Moreover, 64% of companies highlighted the need to accelerate development.

These data reinforce the strategy of Tricentis, which in 2025 solidified its presence in the region with the appointment of Tonatiuh Barradas as Vice President for Latin America.

According to him:
“Our commitment is to help companies in the region deliver quality software with more security, speed, and confidence”.

Methodology of the Tricentis 2025 Quality Transformation Report

The report was produced based on a global survey conducted by Tricentis in March 2025. It involved 2,750 IT professionals from 10 countries, working in the following segments:

  • CTOs
  • CIOs
  • General Managers
  • Vice Presidents of Engineering
  • QA Specialists
  • Software Developers
  • DevOps Leaders

The survey focused on trends and developments related to software engineering, testing, quality, DevOps, and AI, with special attention to ongoing practices in Latin America.
