European Certification For JCB

JCB’s Pioneering With Hydrogen Engines

JCB confirmed that the Dutch Vehicle Authority, known as RDW, was the first to grant the official certification allowing these engines to be available in the Dutch market. Other nations, including Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Germany, France, Spain, Belgium, Poland, Finland, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein, have followed RDW’s lead, recognizing the potential of JCB’s hydrogen engines. The expectation is that other certifications will be realized by 2025.

Lord Bamford received the certification directly from RDW employees André van de Visser and Marc Feijen, consolidating the permission for the sale of hydrogen combustion engines in the Netherlands. To date, JCB has produced over 130 engines, which have been installed in equipment such as excavators, telescopic handlers Loadall, and generators.

Advancements In Field Testing

The practical testing of JCB’s hydrogen combustion equipment is already in advanced stages at customer sites, demonstrating significant progress.
