Mixed Parliamentary Front fights for investment in the shipbuilding industry and job creation.

The Joint Parliamentary Front in Defense of Shipping industry is working on a report for the federal government to resume investments in the sector, which is currently operating below capacity.

Federal deputy Jorge Solla called for a technical visit to the Enseada shipyard, in the municipality of Maragogipe (BA), with the aim of boosting the shipbuilding industry to operate at full capacity and generate jobs.

O Enseada has already generated more than 7.500 direct jobs, but this number has dropped dramatically after the suspension of orders by Thirst Brazil due to the impacts of the Lava Jato operation.

Economic stagnation affected several municipalities in the Recôncavo Baiano, which registered the opening of around 7.000 companies related to the shipyard's activities.

The Parliamentary Front, made up of federal and state deputies, is working on revising the legislation to provide greater legal certainty to the shipbuilding industry and ensure long-lasting projects.

The resumption of the sector requires not only the recovery of jobs, but also the retraining of professionals who were idle.

Opportunities for industry and professionals

The president of Enseada, Ricardo Ricardi, informed that the shipyard has the capacity to produce up to five ships per year, with a qualified team and modern equipment.

The Coordination of Tax Incentives of the Secretariat for Economic Development of Bahia highlights the importance of preparing both jobs and professionals for the recovery of the sector.

A Single Federation of Oil Workers hopes that Petrobras will once again be the driving force behind national engineering and the naval industry with the changes in the federal government's directives.
