Successfully Tested Again, The Anti-Ship Missile (Mansup) Was Launched This Time From The Frigate Independência, And Success In The Project Development Will Put Brazil In A Select Group

Last Wednesday (03/20), the Brazilian Navy successfully tested the anti-ship missile (Mansup) again.
This launch took place aboard the frigate Independência; the previous launch in November of last year had been made from the Corvette Barroso.

After the first test, some improvements were identified and implemented now in the navigation systems of the units participating in this type of launch that use the telemetry installed in the missile.
The test from the Frigate Independência was conducted in an area near Cabo Frio, off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, and was considered positive by the officers who participated in the launch, including in data collection for the improvement of the prototype.

In the operation, two other Navy vessels were used, the Helicopter Carrier Atlântico and the landing ship Almirante Saboia.
Support for the operation was provided by the patrol vessel Amazonas, from the 1st Naval District in Rio, by Super Cougar aircraft, and by the Seahawk from the Naval Aviation Command.

The Missile

The Mansup will be a missile against surface targets at sea and is being developed by the Brazilian Navy together with the companies Avibrás, Siatt, Omnisys, and the Ezute Foundation.
Many highly skilled jobs have been created since the conception to the launch of the missile, and according to the Brazilian Navy, the project aims to ensure the maintenance of Naval Power and sovereignty, as well as to position Brazil among a select group of countries that develop their own missiles.
