Competitor of Fiat Toro and Chevrolet Montana: Toyota revolutionizes the automotive industry with the launch of the new pickup truck registered as the cheap sister of the Hilux

The current automotive craze is SUV-based pickup trucks, which have a more urban and less brutish style. And it is Toyota that is leading this segment, developing this new category of cars for 3 years. The result of this research is the concept known as โ€œEPUโ€, which will be the basis for the brand's new pickup truck, called Stout or โ€œmini Hiluxโ€.

Toyota is preparing to introduce the first flex hybrid pickup truck on the market. Planned to take place at the Sorocaba factory, Sรฃo Paulo, Toyota production was strategically decided by the location, capable of accommodating the manufacture of all the company's models in Brazil. First published by Segredos Cars, this news ushers in a period of anxiety for fans of the brand.

Meet Toyota's new pickup truck in 2025! Mini Hilux promises to shake up rivals Toro and Montana

Toyota's new launches: Mini Hilux, Corolla Cross and the long-awaited Yaris Cross promise to be successful in Brazil and sell like crazy!

The 'mini Hilux' is a pickup truck smaller than the famous and large Hilux, with dimensions slightly smaller than the Fiat model. It fits perfectly into this new segment of urban pickup trucks, which will soon have competition from the new Oroch and a version from Nissan.

Although Toyota has not officially confirmed the name of the model, there is speculation that it could be called Stout, a name already used by the brand in the past for a compact pickup truck. The basis of the future model could be the so-called TNGA, which will also be used in the Yaris Cross, another car from the brand.

The Yaris Cross will be assembled and sold in Brazil from 2024, which may indicate the possibility of manufacturing the new pickup here, as the much-loved Corolla Cross arrived in Brazilian territory in April!

Mini Hilux comes to end the reign of the Fiat Strada, which was the best-selling car in Brazil in the last two years

The success of compact pickup trucks in the Brazilian market is evident. The Fiat Strada, for example, was the best-selling car on the market for the last two consecutive years.

Brazilian consumers have a special preference for these small and brave utility vehicles.

Toyota's new pickup comes with less brutal lines than its bigger Hilux and Tacoma sisters

The model-based design of the mini Hilux is based on the โ€œEPUโ€ concept, which features less brutal and smoother lines compared to its bigger brothers such as the Hilux and Tacoma. The profile of the pickup is very square, with creases and angular cutouts.

The roof is painted black and the wheel arches are rectangular in shape, with unpainted moldings, as are the door sills. The rear of the pickup takes us back to Montana. It is possible to observe a certain similarity between these two vehicles.

A futuristic interior

The interior of the mini Hilux is very futuristic, with clean lines and a digital dashboard. The instruments use a 100% digital screen, which is combined with another larger multimedia screen. Equipment should include items such as airbags, reversing camera, face-to-face key, rain sensor, adaptive cruise control, blind spot warning, automatic braking, lane keeping assistant and front and rear parking sensors, among other comfort features. and security.

Toyota's new pickup comes equipped with a 1.5 Flex aspirated engine and a combined power of up to 110 horsepower

The cheap sister of pickup Hilux is inspired by the Corolla Cross SUV, the concept presented is equipped with a 100% electric power plant, but the data on this engine has not yet been released. It is possible that the production version will use a 1.5 Flex naturally aspirated engine in conjunction with electric motors, resulting in a combined power of up to 110 horsepower. This is the same set that will probably be used in the Brazilian Yaris Cross.

How much will it cost? Stout promises to come with a more competitive price to attract Brazilians and beat rivals Fiat Strada, Toro and Chevrolet Montana

Toyota's new pickup truck is expected to be launched in Brazil between 2024 and 2025. If manufactured, the mini Hilux should aim for the Fiat Touro's price tags, which start at around R$150.000. However, although Japanese cars tend to be a little more expensive, Toyota's new pickup truck promises to come with a more competitive price to attract Brazilians and shake up the sales of rivals Fiat Strada, Toro and Chevrolet Montana.

Inspired by SUV models, the Hilux's cheap sister is Toyota's new bet in the urban pickup truck segment. With a striking design, futuristic interior and modern engine and equipment options, this pickup promises to win over Brazilian consumers. Its launch will certainly be another success for the Japanese automaker.

Now it's your turn to give your opinion! What do you think of Toyota's mini Hilux? Do you own a branded car or are you thinking about purchasing one? If you don't have an engine with at least 150 hp, you run the risk of not being a match for your rivals.

The price proposal is good although we know that nothing weighs less than a promise.
