How Does NuCel, Nubank’s Operator, Work?
NuCel operates under the MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) model, meaning it uses the infrastructure of an existing traditional carrier to offer its services.
In this case, Nubank has partnered with Claro, ensuring coverage in 93% of the national territory and access to high-speed internet, including 5G signal.
Since plan charges are billed via Nubank credit card, the process is straightforward, without the need for physical contracts or bureaucratic complications.
Why Is Nubank Investing in NuCel?
The launch of the physical chip from NuCel reinforces Nubank’s strategy to diversify its services and facilitate digital access.
According to the company, the idea is to offer more control, connectivity, and freedom to the customer.
With the expansion of the operator and the new plans, Nubank is getting even closer to its goal of being a comprehensive platform for financial and digital services.
