Platform P-26, with a long history in the Campos Basin, begins the recycling process and awaits a decision from Petrobras on the future of the structure.
Petrobras has begun demobilizing the P-26 platform, which has operated in the Marlim field, in the Campos Basin, since 1998. The unit, which ceased operations in 2020, was moved this Wednesday (13/11) to the Port of Açu, in the north of the state of Rio de Janeiro.
The P-26 platform will undergo a series of processes, including hull cleaning and essential repairs to naval systems, before moving on to the recycling phase.
The platform will remain on the shoulder at the Port of Açu until the conclusion of the bidding process for its dismantling, a stage for which there is still no set date.

Recycling of other platforms
Petrobras, in its decommissioning plan, has already included the recycling of other veteran platforms, such as the P-32, whose bid was won by Gerdau in partnership with the Ecovix Shipyard.
The P-26 platform is part of the Marlim field revitalization project, which will replace P-26, P-32 and P-35 with two new FPSO units: Anita Garibaldi and Anna Nery.
These new systems are designed to ensure greater efficiency and sustainability in operations, allowing Petrobras to maintain production with more modern equipment.
The decommissioning project reflects a larger ambition by Petrobras, which plans to invest US$11 billion between 2024 and 2028 to dismantle and recycle 23 platforms.
Some of these units, according to the board, could be refurbished to extend the useful life of the vessels, depending on feasibility technique and associated costs.
Platform P-26
The P-26 platform, a semi-submersible production unit, was installed by Petrobras in 1998 in the Marlim field, in the Campos Basin.
Designed to operate in water depths of approximately 650 meters, the P-26 had a production capacity of up to 150 thousand barrels of oil per day and compression of approximately 2 million cubic meters of natural gas per day.
During its operation, the platform contributed significantly to national oil and gas production, consolidating Brazil as an important player in the global energy scenario.

Yes, yes. Unfortunately they want to cover the cameras with tape to do all this but the microphones stay on. ALMOST all of them are down, stay calm and enjoy your retirement, have a good holiday and be careful with the CLICKBAITS!!!!!
I believe that the construction of platforms, despite all the President's efforts, will be unfeasible due to the lack of political involvement of Congress.
This will leave the bone of the fillet that is
the dismantling of these units, a dirty, dangerous and environmentally harmful job.
Our naval industry loses, our most qualified workers lose, our engineering loses… Brazil loses.
