Stressed Structure Receives High-Strength Tensioned Cable and Marks Final Stretch of One of the Most Anticipated Works in Paraná
One of the Most Symbolic Stages of the Guaratuba Bridge is about to happen and, in addition, it should officially mark the final stretch of construction. This involves the installation of the last stay, that high-strength tensioned cable that runs diagonally and has become one of the most characteristic elements of modern cable-stayed bridges.
The information was disclosed by “Rick Record,” according to a live report directly from the construction site, with a detailed update on the timeline and the next steps of the structure that promises to transform mobility on the Paraná coast.
According to the information presented, the last stay will be installed this weekend, between the end of February and the beginning of March. This technical detail is extremely relevant because the stay is not just an aesthetic element. On the contrary, it performs an essential structural function by supporting the bridge deck through high-strength tensioned cables.

The lack of welders, electricians, and operators becomes a structural threat in 2025, with the construction industry and manufacturing already suffering from delays, cost pressures, and labor shortages in Brazil.

Brazil and Paraguay are just 46 meters away from a historic union on the bioceanic bridge that promises to revolutionize trade between the Atlantic and the Pacific.

With 55 km over the sea, a cost of US$ 20 billion, and enough steel to build 60 Eiffel Towers, China’s largest project has connected Hong Kong, Zhuhai, and Macau in a colossal bridge that defies the logic of engineering.

A trick with joint compound transforms a Styrofoam ceiling into a plaster-like ceiling: leveled panels, wires and mesh at the joints, sand, paint, and change the environment while spending little today.
Furthermore, this type of diagonal cable is precisely what gives the bridge its striking appearance that captures attention against the landscape. Not by chance, cable-stayed bridges have become symbols of modernity in various regions of Brazil and the world.
The “Bridge Kiss”: A Delicate Moment that Unites Both Sides of the Structure
After the installation of the last stay, the project enters one of the most anticipated phases: the so-called “bridge kiss.” This is the moment when both sides of the construction finally meet.
This type of engineering works as follows: both ends of the bridge are built simultaneously, advancing towards each other. However, the final stage requires millimeter precision. After all, any misalignment can compromise structural integrity.
Therefore, the meeting of the two parts is considered a delicate operational phase and technically complex. However, when this fitting occurs successfully, it officially symbolizes the completion of the main construction.
In addition, after the “bridge kiss,” the final process of adjustments, structural tests, and preparation for release begins. Therefore, all indications are that the population will soon be able to witness the official completion of the works and, consequently, the inauguration.
Meanwhile, the government reported that the access works to the Guaratuba Bridge, both on the Matinhos side and on the Guaratuba side, are proceeding at an accelerated pace. This progress is essential because, without adequate access roads, the new bridge would not be able to fulfill its strategic role in mobility.
Historic Work Promises to Transform the Paraná Coast
The Guaratuba Bridge represents not just a physical link between two points on the Paraná coast. On the contrary, it symbolizes a structural transformation in logistics and regional development.
During the live coverage, the image of the bridge drew attention due to the rapid progress of the construction. It was even highlighted that it is rare to see a bridge of this magnitude being built with such speed.
This point, in fact, was reinforced during the broadcast, when a curious comment was made about the background landscape and the highlighted cable-stayed structure. Still, the general consensus was clear: this is a grand work that will impact not only Guaratuba and Matinhos but the entire state of Paraná.
Additionally, the replacement of the old crossing system is expected to bring significant gains in time, safety, and logistical efficiency. Consequently, the bridge is likely to boost tourism, facilitate the transport of goods, and improve regional integration.
Therefore, with the installation of the last stay scheduled for the end of February and the beginning of March, followed by the anticipated “bridge kiss,” Paraná is approaching a historic milestone in its infrastructure.
And now the question remains: do you believe that the Guaratuba Bridge will truly transform the Paraná coast as many are predicting?
