With a length of 2,4 km and R$350 million invested, work on the Engenheiro Gilberto Paim-Pamplona Bridge is progressing at a fast pace on the SP-333 and should be completed by 2026, improving mobility and boosting the regional economy.
Construction work on São Paulo’s largest bridge, located over the Tietê River, is progressing rapidly. The Engenheiro Gilberto Paim-Pamplona Bridge, with its impressive 2,4 km length, is being widened to meet the growing traffic demand on the SP-333 highway, connecting the municipalities of Pongaí and Novo Horizonte.
With completion scheduled for the second half of 2026, this work promises not only to improve mobility, but also increase the safety of drivers using this important logistics corridor.
The investment of R$350 million and the accelerated pace of the work
Construction, which began in August 2024, is proceeding at an intense pace. With an investment of R$350 million, the expectation is that the new structure will have a significant impact on the region. The SP-333 highway is an essential route for cargo transportation and the doubling of the bridge will facilitate the flow of vehicles, reducing congestion and increasing transport efficiency.

The engineering behind the doubling of São Paulo's largest bridge
The work is in the installation phase of the pipe sleeves, fundamental structures for supporting the bridge. These pipes, which reach 30 meters in height, are being fixed to the bed of the Tietê River to ensure a solid base for the beams and slabs that will form the new roadway.
In total, 124 pipes will be installed along the bridge, requiring a high level of technical precision due to the complexity of the project. The next stage will involve the placement of the longitudinal beams and concrete slabs, which are essential for shaping the new structure and increasing its capacity to support heavy traffic.
