With Solar Energy and 20 Charging Spots for Electric Cars, the New Hub of Karg at Parque Dom Pedro Shopping in Campinas (SP) Consolidates the Advancement of Electromobility in the Paulista Interior and Reinforces the Commitment to Sustainability.

Karg took a decisive step towards expanding electric mobility in Brazil with the inauguration of its first charging hub in the paulista interior, located at Parque Dom Pedro Shopping in Campinas (SP). The space, officially launched on October 14, 2025, features 20 charging spots, including 10 DC stations of 30 kW and 10 AC stations of 7.4 kW, all developed by WEG.

With this structure, the location becomes the largest charging hub in operation in the interior of São Paulo and marks the beginning of an ambitious project by Karg — a network of charging stations from Grupo Allos, responsible for several shopping centers in the country. The goal is to install 250 charging spots by the end of 2025 and reach 600 by 2026, strengthening the brand’s presence in the segment.

Solar Energy Powers the New Charging Station and Reinforces Environmental Commitment

The great distinction of the new hub is that it is the first charging station of Karg powered by a solar energy plant. The initiative reinforces the company’s commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency.

“This is our first charging station with a solar plant, which makes it an ambitious project. We are excited to offer the service in a region that is very representative for electric mobility in Brazil, transforming Karg into one of the largest charging networks in the country, with efficiency and quality for users,” said Heraldo Gois, head of operations at Karg.

Moreover, during the first weeks of operation, charging will be free. Drivers will be able to park and connect their vehicles at no cost. Later on, the service will be charged through the Karg app or other apps that utilize Voltbras’ roaming technology, a partner of the network.

Parque Dom Pedro Shopping Invests in Solar Energy and Smart Infrastructure

Parque Dom Pedro Shopping also reinforced its sustainable strategy by inaugurating its own solar plant with a carport structure in the parking lot. There are 930 photovoltaic modules distributed over an area that occupies 124 parking spots, representing one of the largest initiatives of its kind among commercial centers in the country.

This plant has the capacity to generate 60,000 kWh per month, equivalent to 6% of the monthly energy consumption of the shopping center, which is around 1 million kWh. The energy produced is sufficient to charge 20 cars simultaneously, significantly reducing the carbon footprint of the operation.

“One of our goals is to bring convenience to our clients and to the community around us,” explained Taís Tavares, general manager of the shopping center. “Parque Dom Pedro was born sustainable. And all these chargers use solar energy, so we also reduce our carbon footprint while serving our clients and our neighborhood with convenience, comfort, and safety.”

Electric Mobility Grows with Support from Strategic Partners

The expansion of Karg has the support of companies and groups that see solar energy and electromobility as the future of urban mobility. Among the supporters is Grupo Germânica, which operates with 46 dealerships and 13 automotive brands in three Brazilian states.

“For us, it is very positive to see how Grupo Allos is fully entering the world of electric and hybrid vehicles, providing the appropriate infrastructure for many clients of our dealerships. Electromobility is growing, and we are keeping up with this evolution in our daily lives,” highlighted Letícia Barbieri, communication supervisor at Grupo Germânica.

With operations already present in 13 shopping centers across various regions of the country, Karg expands its reach and strengthens its brand with the support of Voltbras technology. The project in Campinas demonstrates how the integration of solar energy and charging infrastructure can drive sustainable growth and meet the increasing demand for clean mobility solutions in Brazil.

For Allos, the administrator of Parque Dom Pedro Shopping, the project also reinforces the company’s vision for the future. “A shopping center as relevant as this demands a delivery at the same height. And Karg believes it has the possibility of leading electric mobility within the shopping center segment, with infrastructure that is inspiring to the market,” Gois concluded.
