Opportunity for Free Technical Qualification with Monthly Scholarship in Paulista Cities Broadens Professional Access and Encourages Participation of Priority Groups.

The Petrobras Autonomy and Income Program, in partnership with Firjan SESI and SENAI São Paulo, has opened 520 free spots in professional qualification courses in five Paulista cities, with a monthly scholarship of R$ 660 and an increased amount of R$ 858 for mothers with young children.

Applications are online, free, and open from December 8 to 19, 2025, with a random electronic lottery scheduled for January 7, 2026, according to the latest notice released by Firjan SESI.

This initiative is part of Petrobras’ strategy to expand access to professional training in areas related to industry, focusing on residents of regions close to its operational units and on individuals in situations of social vulnerability.

According to the notice, the courses are offered by SENAI-SP, with certification recognized by the Brazilian Classification of Occupations and in-person activities at SENAI units in São José dos Campos, Paulínia, Cubatão, Mauá, and Santo André.

Free Courses in São Paulo with Industrial Focus

Opportunities are aimed at professional qualification courses, with classes organized to meet specific industry demands and the regional hubs of oil, gas, and transformation.

According to the notice, there will be a total of 26 classes distributed among the different cities.

In São José dos Campos, home to the Henrique Lage Refinery, the largest number of spots is concentrated.

There are courses available for training in boilermaking, scaffold assembly, forms, and shoring, refractory masonry, and signal man.

Summing up the expected classes, the municipality has 240 spots in different shifts, with classes starting primarily from February and April 2026.

In Paulínia, the region of the Paulínia Refinery, the available courses focus on boilermaking and welding in the electrode process.

There are 60 spots planned, with evening and daytime classes.

In Cubatão, a municipality that includes the Presidente Bernardes Refinery, the notice provides spots for boilermaking, scaffold assembly, forms, and shoring, and welding in the electrode process.

In total, there are 80 spots, distributed in classes that combine different shifts and schedules starting throughout 2026.

In the São Paulo ABC region, Mauá and Santo André will also host classes.

In Mauá, linked to the Capuava Refinery, training is available in boilermaking and welding in the electrode process, totaling 60 spots.

In Santo André, the offering is for building maintenance assistant, with 40 spots in evening classes.

Participation Criteria and Affirmative Actions

The program is designed to prioritize groups in situations of economic and social vulnerability.

The notice specifies that the spots are intended for individuals residing in the areas covered by Petrobras operations in São Paulo, especially those who do not have a formal employment relationship and have a per capita family income of up to half a minimum wage.

Among the prioritized groups are unemployed individuals, women, black individuals, people with disabilities, Indigenous peoples, quilombolas, migrants, refugees, transsexuals, travestis, and transgender individuals.

The document provides for the reservation of spots by groups and the adoption of specific affirmative actions at the time of the lottery and classification.

In addition to technical training, the courses include activities focused on human development, aimed at socio-emotional skills and preparation for the job market.

Monthly Scholarship to Ensure Continuity

To promote student retention until the end of the course, the notice provides for the payment of a monthly scholarship of R$ 660 to all randomly selected participants who are enrolled and have regular attendance.

The amount is paid by Firjan SESI directly to the students, through a bank account in the participant’s name.

There is also an increased benefit for women with young children.

For candidates who have children up to 11 years and 11 months, the scholarship amount increases to R$ 858 per month throughout the course duration.

This condition must be proven by official documentation presented at the time of enrollment and attached to the application platform.

The continuous receipt of the scholarship is conditioned to minimum attendance in classes and the fulfillment of the required activities.

In cases of excessive absences or withdrawal, the student may lose the right to the benefit and the spot.

Requirements for Enrollment in the Program

To participate in the selection process, the candidate must be 18 years or older, meet the minimum educational requirements, reside in the locality of the offer or its surroundings, and have a per capita family income of up to half a minimum wage.

The areas considered priority include regions close to Petrobras’s main units in the state, such as REVAP, REPLAN, RPBC, and RECAP, in addition to São Paulo and Santo André.

The selection of participants will not be made through a written test.

The process provides for a public electronic lottery, audited and broadcast online, scheduled for January 7, 2026, with the results announced on January 12, 2026, on the official program website and at SENAI schools.

Subsequently, there will be steps for online pre-enrollment, in-person registration, and a retake phase for remaining spots.

How to Enroll in Free Technical Courses

Applications are free and online, and will remain open from 3 PM on December 8, 2025, until 6 PM on December 19, 2025, exclusively on the official platform of the Petrobras Autonomy and Income Program.

After filling out the information, the candidate must keep their login and password, follow the public lottery in January, check the results, complete the pre-enrollment within the deadline, gather the required documentation — such as proof of income, residence, education, and, in the case of mothers, children’s documents — and finalize in-person registration at the SENAI unit responsible for the course.
