São Paulo PM Exam Open for 2,200 Soldier Positions, with Starting Salary of R$ 5,055.53 and Tests in Several States

The São Paulo Military Police keeps registrations open for the exam that will select 2,200 new soldiers. Those interested in the PM Exam must meet several basic requirements to participate.

Among them, a complete high school education, age between 17 and 30 years, being up to date with Electoral Justice and military obligations. In addition, the minimum height required is 1.55 m for women and 1.60 m for men. It is also mandatory to have a driver’s license between categories “B” and “E.”

The initial salary for those entering as soldiers will be R$ 5,055.53.

Registrations occur exclusively on the Fundação Vunesp website, with a final deadline on October 23. The participation fee is R$ 85.

Exam Stages and Locations

According to the announcement, the tests may take place in 37 municipalities in São Paulo and also in the Federal District and states such as Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Rio de Janeiro, Ceará, Goiás, and Rio Grande do Sul.

The selection process includes several phases. Candidates undergo knowledge exams, psychological evaluations, physical fitness tests, social conduct analysis, reputation and integrity investigations, in addition to the verification of documents.

The organizers advise registrants to monitor the summons in the Official State Gazette or on the Vunesp website, especially between November 17 and 25.

Training and Current Personnel

Successful candidates assume the position only after completing the higher education course in police techniques at the Superior School of Soldiers.

Since 2023, the state government has opened 14,400 positions to strengthen the ostensive and preventive policing throughout the São Paulo territory.

Currently, the PM has 3,500 second-class soldiers and 645 cadets in training. An additional 7,300 police officers, including 101 health service lieutenants, have already graduated.

In addition to this Military Police exam, the Government of São Paulo offers two other selection processes. One has 12 positions for accounting specialists in the Secretary of Finance and Planning, with a starting salary of R$ 6,117.26. The other offers 200 positions for state control auditors, with an initial salary of R$ 17,850.
