Submission of Lists by Secretariats Opens Federal Recognition Stage That Provides Exclusive Credit for Educational Technology, with Criteria Linked to Ideb, Validation in Official Systems and Defined Deadlines for Networks and Educators to Follow Each Phase of the Process.

State and municipal education secretariats can now send to the Ministry of Education the list of teachers eligible to participate in the Recognition Mais Professores, a federal initiative that provides a credit of R$ 3 thousand for the purchase of technology equipment.

The stage was opened on Tuesday, December 16, and the deadline for nomination ends on December 30, with submission of the information exclusively through the Integrated Monitoring, Execution and Control System (Simec).

This action is part of the Program Mais Professores para o Brasil and, according to the MEC, should benefit 100 thousand basic education teachers working in public schools linked to education networks.

The selection considers the performance of the units in the Basic Education Development Index (Ideb), combined with socioeconomic indicators.

Recognition Mais Professores: What Is the MEC Policy

The Recognition Mais Professores is a public policy aimed at teachers in service within public education networks.

According to the Ministry of Education, the initiative aims to recognize professionals working in schools with outstanding educational results, considering different regional realities and socioeconomic contexts.

The program was officially announced on October 15, 2025, during Teachers’ Day, and is part of the Mais Professores para o Brasil, established by Decree No. 12,358, from January 2025.

The decree establishes a set of federal actions aimed at the training, valuation, and retention of teachers in public basic education.

R$ 3 Thousand Voucher: Rules for Use and Operation of the Benefit

The selected teachers will be entitled to a credit of R$ 3 thousand, provided via a card issued by Banco do Brasil.

The amount is for restricted use and can only be used for the purchase of new technological equipment, such as computers, notebooks, tablets, or mini-computers, according to the rules published by the MEC.

If the price of the equipment exceeds the amount of the credit, the teacher may supplement the difference with personal funds.

The deadline for using the benefit is up to 180 days after the amount is released on the card, according to the program’s regulations.

The release of the credit does not occur automatically.

The process involves different stages and agencies: the MEC consolidates the lists and general criteria, the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep) validates the school data, the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes) coordinates the financial execution, and Banco do Brasil is responsible for issuing the card.

Who Can Be Nominated by Education Networks

To be eligible, the teacher must have worked in effective teaching in the 2024 school year, according to the information declared in the School Census.

The school must be linked to a municipal, state, or district education secretariat and cannot adopt selective processes for student admissions.

The recognition reaches teachers of the initial years of elementary education, the final years of elementary education, and high school.

Federal public networks are not included in this stage of the program.

The school’s performance in the Ideb is the main criterion considered.

Additionally, the MEC states that half of the vacancies are allocated to schools with better proportional results in the index, while the other half benefits units that show good performance within the group of the 25% with the lowest socioeconomic level, measured by the Socioeconomic Level Indicator (INSE).

Another requirement is the teacher’s linkage to the National Teacher’s Identity Card of Brazil (CNDB), which serves as a verification basis for the professional link in the federal government’s official databases.

Nomination in Simec: Responsibility of the Secretariats

The nomination of teachers is the exclusive responsibility of the education secretariats.

In Simec, managers have access to the list of schools with teachers eligible for recognition, created based on data from the 2024 School Census.

Before entering the data, the network’s responsible person must sign a commitment and responsibility term, in which they declare the truthfulness, integrity, and authenticity of the personal and functional information submitted to the MEC.

Only teachers regularly working during the considered period may be nominated.

The final deadline for sending the information is December 30.

According to the ministry, any inconsistencies or missing the deadline may prevent the teacher from advancing to the next stages of the process.

What Happens After the Nomination

After the nomination stage by the education networks is completed, the teachers considered eligible will need to request the recognition individually through the website of the National Teacher’s Identity Card of Brazil.

The MEC informed that this functionality will still be made available and that the request is mandatory for the release of the benefit.

After the request is validated, Banco do Brasil will issue the card with the credit of R$ 3 thousand.

The use of the amount must be proven through electronic accountability, with submission of an Electronic Invoice in the name of the beneficiary.

The technical and financial analysis will be under the responsibility of Capes.

If the accountability is rejected, the regulations provide for the return of the amount through a Union Collection Guide (GRU).

Program Mais Professores para o Brasil and Associated Actions

The Recognition Mais Professores is one of the actions planned in the Program Mais Professores para o Brasil.

According to the MEC, the program was structured to serve about 2.7 million teachers throughout the country, bringing together initiatives aimed at initial training, assessment, financial incentives, and professional recognition.

Among the actions already announced are the Pé-de-Meia Licenciaturas, the Bolsa Mais Professores, the National Teacher Exam, and the Training Portal.

The Recognition differs by offering a material incentive directly linked to the performance of schools and to the official data of basic education.

How to Register and Monitor the Benefit

To access the credit, the first step is to follow the communications from the municipal or state education secretariat, responsible for sending the list of teachers to the MEC by December 30.

If the name appears among those nominated, the teacher should access the website of the National Teacher’s Identity Card of Brazil and request recognition as soon as the functionality is released by the ministry, a necessary step for card issuance and voucher release.
