The Launch of the Urban Cruiser
The news is named Toyota Urban Cruiser, a compact electric SUV developed especially for the European market.
According to information from AutoCar, the model arrives to complement the Yaris Cross line, which is widely recognized for its hybrid version.
The Urban Cruiser, however, exclusively adopts electric motoring, consolidating the brand’s transition to a cleaner and more efficient portfolio.
As reported, the model shares the platform with the Suzuki eVitara, a result of the partnership between Toyota and Suzuki in developing solutions for the electric car market.
This launch symbolizes the union of two traditional brands in favor of automotive innovation.
Sophisticated Design and Modern Features
The Toyota Urban Cruiser impresses with a design that combines elements of the Urban SUV concept with exclusive innovations.
Among the highlights are the “hammer head” shaped headlights and the taillights that connect in a single line, adding sophistication to the look.
With a length of 4.29 meters, a width of 1.80 meters, and a height of 1.64 meters, the compact SUV features a wheelbase of 2.70 meters, ideal for greater stability and internal comfort.
The all-wheel drive option is another distinguishing feature that enhances its versatility.
Inside, the model does not disappoint. The 10.25-inch digital dashboard and the 10.1-inch touchscreen ensure high technology and connectivity.
The multimedia system is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while the MyToyota app allows real-time monitoring of the battery charge.
For added comfort, the rear seats are sliding and have 40/20/40 split folding backs, providing flexibility in transporting passengers and luggage.
These details highlight Toyota’s commitment to practicality and user experience.

Powertrain and Range
The Urban Cruiser will be available in three versions that vary in power and battery capacity:
- The base version offers a 144 hp (106 kW) engine and a 49 kWh battery;
- The mid-version features a 174 hp (128 kW) engine and a 61 kWh battery;
- The top version includes all-wheel drive and an additional motor on the rear axle, reaching 184 hp (135 kW).
Although Toyota has not yet disclosed the official range, it is expected that the model with the larger battery will have a range of up to 400 km per charge, making it competitive among electric vehicles in the segment.
Availability and Prices
The Toyota Urban Cruiser will be officially presented at the Brussels Motor Show in 2025.
Its market arrival is scheduled for the third quarter of 2025 in the United Kingdom, followed by other countries in Europe.
According to initial estimates, prices are expected to be around R$ 266,000 (approximately £35,000).
These values position the Urban Cruiser as a premium option among compact electric SUVs.
Partnership with Suzuki: What’s Changing?
The partnership between Toyota and Suzuki is not new, but it continues to yield interesting results.
The Urban Cruiser and the Suzuki eVitara share the same platform and much of the engineering, expanding possibilities for consumers.
This collaboration reinforces the brands’ commitment to offering more affordable and sustainable models.
A New Chapter for Toyota
With the launch of the Urban Cruiser, Toyota reaffirms its intention to lead the electric vehicle market.
The model combines sophistication, technology, and sustainability, meeting the needs of an increasingly demanding audience.
Now, the question that remains is: Is the Urban Cruiser the electric SUV that will finally unite luxury, technology, and affordability? Share your opinion in the comments!
