Petrobras Transporte (Transpetro) successfully celebrated the end of 2023, registering the signing of contracts that exceed the R$500 million mark in new business. These partnerships, mostly established with companies independent of the Petrobras System, solidify Transpetro's position as the largest multimodal logistics company in Brazil. oil and derivatives from Latin America.

Transpetro breaks barriers with independent companies

With an extensive operation that covers 180 customers, 48 ​​terminals (27 waterways and 21 land), approximately 8,5 kilometers of pipelines and a fleet of 36 ships, Transpetro stands out as Petrobras' main subsidiary.

Sergio Bacci, president of Transpetro, highlights that the company's reach has been fundamental in attracting the attention of the private sector, resulting in the winning of new contracts.

He highlights that “more and more market agents see value in Transpetro’s experience and competence”, indicating that the company is achieving its goals of generating new business.

Petrobras subsidiary reduces costs with ship to ship operations

Bacci emphasizes that the partnerships established will be expanded, highlighting the capillarity and synergy of Transpetro's operations as a competitive differentiator in the oil, derivatives and biofuels logistics sector.

An example of Transpetro's strategic direction in the search for partners outside the Petrobras System are the new contracts for ship to ship operations (transshipment of oil and oil products between ships) in Baía de Todos os Santos, in Bahia.

This initiative involves several customers, such as Acelen, Ream and Seacrest. Bacci highlights that this logistics modality allows for gains in scale, reducing shipping costs by up to 30% in the maritime mode.

Transpetro uses its own fleet to deliver LPG

In the North Region, Transpetro expanded its operations with the development of ship to barge transshipment at different points in Amazonas.

This strategy has been crucial to maintaining fuel supplies in the region during the worst river ebb in recent times.

 Clients such as Raízen, Novum and Ream are some of those benefiting from these operations.

The year 2023 also marked a significant innovation for Transpetro, with the use of a ship from its own fleet to serve a private client, transporting Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) by water from Coari to Manaus.

New perspectives in Transpetro management

In addition to commercial achievements, Transpetro promoted internal changes in 2023, creating an Executive Management of New Businesses, directly linked to the presidency.

The company also increased the number of women in management positions by 48%, totaling 96 departments headed by female representatives.

There was also a 17% increase in the number of self-declared black, brown, yellow and indigenous professionals in leadership positions.

For Transpetro's new management, promoting a safe and diverse work environment is considered fundamental to boost business growth.
