The Six Flags Over Texas park in the United States has revealed a project that has already gone down in history even before its inauguration. In 2026, the largest roller coaster in the world, named Tormenta Rampaging Run, will open, which promises to redefine the limits of engineering and adrenaline.

The attraction arrives in a symbolic year: the 65th anniversary of the park. According to the announcement, it will be the first “giga dive coaster” on the planet, combining the extreme height of a giga coaster with the intensity of the steep drops of a dive coaster, creating a new category for theme park enthusiasts.

What Will the New Roller Coaster Be Like

According to O Globo, the Tormenta Rampaging Run will have 94 meters in height and a drop of 95 degrees from 87 meters, setting a new world record for beyond-vertical descents.

During the ride, visitors will reach 140 km/h, traversing 1.28 km of track with a 55-meter loop, the largest in the world, and a 66-meter Immelmann inversion.

The project was developed by the Swiss manufacturer Bolliger & Mabillard, known for some of the planet’s most iconic attractions.

The company described the new roller coaster as an absolute innovation: “a hybrid that combines height, speed, and drops that challenge the senses.”

Theme and Immersive Experience

According to O Globo, the attraction’s inspiration comes from the traditional Running of the Bulls in Spain, which explains the name and setting.

The themed area, called Rancho de la Tormenta, will be a scenic Spanish village complete with a traditional restaurant, Cocina Abuela, offering dishes from Spanish and Latin American cuisine.

This proposal reinforces a trend in amusement parks: not only delivering a thrilling ride but also creating an immersive environment that connects cultural experience to entertainment.

The inauguration of the Tormenta Rampaging Run will be one of the major highlights of the special 65th anniversary programming for Six Flags Over Texas, the first park in the chain, opened in 1961.
