2026 Documentary Series Brings Together William Bonner, Ernesto Paglia, Reginaldo Leme, and Emerson Fittipaldi, Following the Behind-the-Scenes of Classic Cars with Vehicles that Have Passed Through the Journalist’s Collection, Now Displayed at the Carde Museum in Campos do Jordão.

William Bonner, known for sharing parts of his relationship with classic cars on social media, will be one of the characters in a documentary series directed by Ernesto Paglia.

With six episodes scheduled to air in 2026, “Time Machines” aims to show the behind-the-scenes involvement of the journalist with classic cars and will also feature Reginaldo Leme and Emerson Fittipaldi.

The production is carried out by 02 Filmes in partnership with the Carde, a car museum located in Campos do Jordão, in the interior of São Paulo.

Some models associated with Bonner’s journey as a collector are already at the location and have become part of the exhibition space.

The proposal announced for the series is to follow stories and processes related to the preservation of vintage vehicles, based on behind-the-scenes footage and accounts from industry personalities.

In Bonner’s case, the starting point is his own “garage,” which gained visibility in posts he made over the years.

Besides the journalist, the cast includes Reginaldo Leme and Emerson Fittipaldi, names well-known to the public for their careers related to motorsports and coverage of the sector.

The presence of both suggests that the production intends to approach the topic from different angles, including collecting and automotive culture.

Among the cars that have been part of Bonner’s collection and are currently at the Carde are a 1986 Ford Escort XR3 and a 1976 Volkswagen Passat TS.

The two vehicles, according to the curator of the collection, Luiz Goshima, arrived at the museum after being purchased by a collector who is close to the group associated with the institution.

As Goshima explained in an interview quoted in the original text, the collector acquired the models directly from Bonner and decided to leave them in the care of the museum.

The institution, in turn, states that it maintains the preservation of the originality and details of the vehicles.

“The most interesting thing is that the cars were already in excellent condition when they arrived.

Both the Passat and the Escort had been very well taken care of by their previous owners”, says the curator.

The exhibition of the models at the museum marks a change of context: vehicles once kept in private collection have become part of a visitable collection.

In such a collection, conservation typically follows routines and criteria defined by the responsible team.

Classic Car Collection and the Journalist’s History as a Collector

William Bonner’s relationship with classic cars spans years, and over time, he has owned dozens of vehicles.

In 2022, the journalist shared on social media images of 12 models, according to the account present in the original text.

Among the vehicles mentioned as part of this history is the Volkswagen Gol GTS, associated with the 1980s and remembered by many enthusiasts as one of the sporty models of that decade.

Also mentioned is the 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback, noted as a symbol of style and performance in the original text.

In the same vein, the account includes imported sports cars that would have passed through the collection, such as a BMW M5 and a Porsche 911, both from the 1990s.

Thus, the described set indicates a selection that spans different origins and periods of the automotive industry, according to the listed references.

The original text also points out that the Gol GTS is valued for aspects such as its sporty design and presence in Brazilian automotive culture, while the Mustang is associated with the imagery of American muscle cars.

These interpretations are recurring in publications and among collectors but can vary according to expert evaluations and the historical context of each model.

Posts on Social Media and the Photo with a DKW in the Background

Bonner often posts details and images related to the collection on social media, which has helped solidify public interest in the topic.

One of the posts mentioned in the original text features a childhood photo of the journalist with a DKW in the background.

The car is remembered for being one of the few models to use a two-stroke engine, a characteristic associated with part of the automotive production in the 1950s and 1960s.

In this case, the image was described as a record that connects personal memory and automotive references from that period.

Meanwhile, the presence of vehicles that have passed through the journalist’s garage at a museum like the Carde expands the circulation of these pieces beyond the private environment.

In such institutions, conservation depends on the oversight of a technical team, focusing on maintaining original characteristics and documenting interventions when necessary.

With the series scheduled for 2026, Bonner’s trajectory in classic cars will also be treated as a documentary theme.

The production promises to bring together behind-the-scenes and stories related to choices, maintenance, and the transfer of vehicles among collectors and institutions.
