The possibility of a new public contest by Petrobras is back on the radar of candidates across the country, with expectations for positions at entry, technical, and higher levels and salaries that, in previous announcements, reached the range of US$ 2,200.
Despite the interest, the state-owned company has not yet published an announcement with rules, positions, and number of opportunities for a new selection, and informs, on its contest page, that there are no open selection processes at the moment.
Even without an announcement circulating, some recent facts help explain why the topic has gained strength.

The main information, for now, is that there is no current announcement announcing a new national contest for 2026.
This means that details such as number of vacancies, distribution by states, registration schedule, subjects, and exam format remain undefined until the official publication of the document.
Nonetheless, the movement around the topic has been fueled by forecasts published on specialized contest websites and by content replicated on social media.
In these materials, the estimate of about 1,400 vacancies appears frequently, along with the indication that Cesgranrio would once again be responsible for administering the exams.
As these projections are not included in an official communication with rules and dates, they should be treated as market expectations, not as confirmation.
PDV Approved and Impact on Employee Frame
Petrobras reported, in November 2025, that its board of directors approved a new Voluntary Dismissal Program aimed at retired employees, with a potential target audience of around 1,100 people.
In the same communication, the company indicated that dismissals are expected to occur throughout 2026.
In practice, programs of this nature are usually accompanied by internal discussions about team restructuring, operational continuity, and knowledge transfer.
