With 728,000 Square Meters, Nearly 9,000 Rooms, and Valued at US$ 70 Billion, the Forbidden City in Beijing Is the Largest and Most Valuable Imperial Complex in History, Attracting Millions of Visitors Every Year!

The world is full of gigantic palaces, but none come close to the Forbidden City in Beijing. This place is a true colossus of history, an imperial complex that looks as if it came straight out of a movie! We’re talking about a palace with nearly 9,000 rooms, which was home to Chinese emperors for more than 500 years and, today, bears an impressive title: the most valuable property on Earth, valued at US$ 70 billion.

Have you ever imagined walking through a place that for centuries was forbidden to any common person? That’s right, the name “Forbidden City” is not for nothing!

The Grandeur of the Forbidden City in Beijing

The Forbidden City in Beijing is not just a palace, it is a true monument to China’s history. With nearly 9,000 rooms, impressive architecture, and a billion-dollar value, this place continues to fascinate the world.
The Forbidden City in Beijing is not just a palace, it is a true monument to China’s history. With nearly 9,000 rooms, impressive architecture, and a billion-dollar value, this place continues to fascinate the world.

It’s easy to get lost in the numbers: built in 1406, the Forbidden City was the center of power in China from 1420 to 1924. During this time, only those with direct authorization from the emperor could enter.

Located in the middle of the Imperial City in Beijing, the Forbidden City represents the pinnacle of traditional Chinese architecture. And it is no exaggeration to say that, to this day, it remains the largest preserved royal complex on the planet. If you ever go to Beijing, this is the place you simply cannot miss!

A Palace with Nearly 9,000 Rooms

The Forbidden City covers an enormous area of 728,000 square meters, with 980 buildings. The built area alone is 150,000 square meters! Now, the most impressive part: the number of rooms.

Historically, it has always been said that the palace had 9,999 rooms, because it was believed that only gods could have 10,000. But more recent studies show that the actual number is a little below that – something close to 9,000 rooms.

Well, it doesn’t really matter if it’s 9,999 or 9,000… the fact is that this place is a true labyrinth of history, filled with gigantic halls, courtyards, temples, and cultural treasures.

The Most Valuable Property on Earth

If the size is already impressive, the value of this palace is simply astronomical. In 2018, experts estimated that the Forbidden City would be worth around US$ 70 billion!

To give you an idea, this value surpasses any other property on the planet. There is no castle, mansion, or land that comes close to this appraisal. But, to be honest, the Forbidden City in Beijing is worth much more than money. This place carries over 600 years of history, and that simply has no price.
