Closed since 2024, the Morrinhos Site will be transformed into a park in the North Zone of São Paulo, with 35.6 thousand square meters, trails, a beach tennis court, a children’s playground, and preservation of the bandeirista house from 1702
The Morrinhos Site, closed for visits since 2024, received official approval in March 2026 to begin the renovation that will transform the space into a park, with an investment of R$ 12.45 million, combining architectural preservation, environmental concerns, and new leisure facilities. The site features the Bandeirista mansion, built in 1702.
Project confirmed
The creation of the park was authorized in 2012, but its implementation has been delayed by the public authorities at various times.
Now, the revitalization will finally move forward with the hiring of Apeng Serviços e Construções Ltda., the winner of the bidding process.

This initiative represents the reopening of an important area for the North Zone, which will gain another leisure option for the population, in addition to the recovery of a space that has not received visitors.
Preserved heritage
The project combines environmental protection and architectural preservation. On the site is the bandeirista headquarters house of the Morrinhos Site, built with rammed earth and standing since 1702.
With the transformation into a park, the proposal also protects the collection of the Museum of the City of São Paulo and reinforces the appreciation of the nature present in the complex.
Area and structure of the project
The new park will occupy about 35.6 thousand square meters between Rua Santo Anselmo and Avenida Braz Leme, in Jardim São Bento. The space will bring together the architectural ensemble and the green area surrounding it.
Among the planned facilities are trails through the woods, a beach tennis court, and a children’s playground. The renovation also includes the revitalization of the existing football fields and the old nursery, which is now deactivated.
What is missing
There is still no set date for the park’s inauguration. Nevertheless, the progress of the work ends a wait that began years ago and puts the revitalization in a concrete phase.
The expectation is that, after the renovation, the residents of São Paulo will be able to return to this historic and ecological space in the North Zone, with public use resumed and the structure once again open to the population.
