With Robust Investment, Job Creation, and Strategic Focus in Southern Brazil, Adimax Strengthens Its Presence in the Pet Food Market with a New Factory in Mandirituba, Paraná.

The city of Mandirituba, in the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba, is now home to Adimax’s newest factory, one of the largest pet food manufacturers in Brazil. With an investment of R$ 140 million, the company inaugurated its first plant in Paraná, designed to produce up to 7,000 tons of pet food per month. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Governor Carlos Massa Ratinho Junior, state and municipal authorities, as well as company representatives.

The new factory marks Adimax’s seventh unit in the country and is part of the company’s strategy to expand its operations in the markets of Southern and Southeastern Brazil, with the potential for export to other countries in South America.

New Factory Brought Job Creation

Right at the start of its operations, Adimax’s new industrial unit has already generated around 70 direct jobs, a number that could reach 200 as operations advance to full capacity.

A relevant fact is that approximately 65% of the hired employees are residents of Mandirituba, which strengthens the local economy by generating income and driving commerce in the region.

“The factory already starts with many employees, and the trend is to grow even more. Their plan is to expand this plant in the future, so for us, it’s a reason for joy because it consolidates Paraná in this economic growth we are registering, with full employment and, automatically, improving people’s lives through work,” highlighted Governor Ratinho Junior.

Brands and Market: Focus on Growth

Among the products to be manufactured at the new plant are Adimax’s well-known brands: Fórmula Natural, Origens, Magnus, and Qualidy. The portfolio caters to different profiles of pet owners and pets, consolidating the company’s presence as a reference in high-quality pet food.

The strategic location of the new factory was also decisive for the choice of Paraná.

“Logistics is also a very important differential because from here we can distribute to Santa Catarina, to Rio Grande do Sul, which is our intention, so Paraná has all the necessary conditions for us to do good work here,” stated Adir Comunello, President of Adimax. “Paraná will be a very strong starting point, and we are certain that the Mandirituba plant will be very successful.”

Strategic Choice and State Support

The decision to install the new factory in Mandirituba was strongly influenced by the Paraná Competitivo program, an initiative of the State Government coordinated by the Secretary of Finance and the Invest Paraná agency.

The program aims to attract new investments to Paraná, offering tax incentives according to current legislation, without tax giveaways.

“We talked to Adir back in 2018, after Governor Ratinho Junior was elected. It was one of the first companies that sought us out, and we worked to bring it to the State. We presented Mandirituba to them, and they agreed to come here,” said Eduardo Bekin, President of Invest Paraná.

Rogério Tadashi, the unit’s industrial manager, also emphasized the importance of state government support for realizing the project.

“This point was decisive. The incentive is something that greatly facilitates the viability of the industry in the State. We had total support from the government and all the authorities we needed during this process, so it was certainly one of the decisive factors for us to settle in Paraná,” he stated.

Agricultural Potential Favors the Pet Sector

The State of Paraná is consolidating itself as a strategic hub for the pet food sector not only due to its geographical location but also because of its strong agricultural production.

Paraná is the largest chicken producer in the country and the second largest corn producer, two essential inputs for manufacturing pet food.

In addition to Adimax’s new plant, the state already has important players in the sector, such as PremieRpet, which invested R$ 1.1 billion in a unit in Porto Amazonas, and Coamo, which spent R$ 178 million to build its factory in Campo Mourão. Both industries were also attracted with the support of Invest Paraná.

Meet Adimax

Founded in 2002, Adimax is a national reference in manufacturing dog and cat food, with a portfolio that caters to everything from household pets to pets with special needs.

In addition to the new plant in Mandirituba, the company has units in Salto de Pirapora (SP), Abreu e Lima (PE), Uberlândia and Juatuba (MG), Goianápolis (GO), and Feira de Santana (BA), as well as distribution centers in the Southeast and Central-West regions.

Adimax’s operations also extend to social responsibility through projects that support animal shelters, low-income pet owners, elderly people in nursing homes, visually impaired individuals, autistic children, and hospitalized patients, among other groups.

Promising Future for Mandirituba and Paraná with the New Factory

The arrival of Adimax represents a milestone for Mandirituba and for the industrial sector of Paraná, reinforcing the state’s role as an important destination for large investments.

“We are inaugurating this pet food plant in Mandirituba, one of the most modern in Brazil, from one of the largest groups in South America. Adimax invested R$ 140 million in this industry that will serve the market in the southern region of the country and all of South America,” stated Governor Ratinho Junior.

The expectation is that, with the continuation of the Paraná Competitivo program and a favorable business environment, new enterprises will establish themselves in the region, contributing to the growth of the Paraná economy.
