Major Highlights of the Largest Car Collection
Among the highlights are the Bentleys specially commissioned by the sultan. Unique models, such as Camelot, Phoenix, Imperial, Rapier, and Pegasus, were custom-made for him. Additionally, the family owns 380 Bentleys, including six Dominators – the brand’s first SUV – and the 1996 Bentley Buccaneer, an exclusive sports coupe.

Other notable cars include the McLaren F1, the Jaguar XJ220, and an Aston Martin Vantage “Special Series” made exclusively for the sultan.
Bugattis are also present, with models like the iconic EB110. The collection goes beyond the conventional, featuring examples like the BMW Nazca M12 concept, solidifying the sultan’s taste for exclusivity and innovation.
All these vehicles are kept in a vast automotive complex within the palace, with wings dedicated to the major brands. Many of the cars remain in impeccable condition, preserving their historical and financial value.
Photos Leaked After More Than 20 Years
It is said that these photos are from 2001. The car crashes that appeared on Instagram would be images kept secret for 20 years until someone decided to make the collection public — likely after a dispute.
Instagram accounts comment that a folder on Google Drive with these photos had been deleted. Fortunately, it has returned (at least for now).
The collection stopped growing in the late 1990s, likely because it was around this time that the photos were taken.
With the Asian financial crisis of 1997, there was a cash crunch, and Prince Jefri was accused of embezzling over 15 billion dollars from Brunei. As part of the deal, he began returning assets to the state. People on Instagram believe that this was when the photos were taken, perhaps to prepare the collection for sale.
It seems that people got tired of releasing one photo at a time; recently, the account @brunei_cars_2001 shared a link to the Google Drive with the entire package.
It’s a massive folder, but at least the images are well organized, making it easier to go through them. Just don’t be shocked if you don’t recognize many of the models because, as has been said, several of these cars simply do not exist anywhere else. Not even Ralph Lauren’s collection comes close — and that says a lot.
