With More Than 2,500 m² and a Look That Blends Glass, Metal, and Extravagance, the Evergreen Crystal Palace Is a Million-Dollar Mansion in Missouri That Divides Opinions and Has Become a Phenomenon on Social Media

Known as the “ugliest mansion in the world,” the Evergreen Crystal Palace is a construction that sparks curiosity wherever it goes. Built in the 1990s on the shores of Table Rock Lake in Missouri, the property spans over 2,500 square meters and has an unusual appearance. Despite criticism of its look, the residence is considered one of the most luxurious and expensive in the state.

Ugliest Mansion in the World? A Bold Project by a Gas Magnate

The mansion was envisioned by multimillionaire Robert Plaster, founder of Empire Gas. He invested about US$ 6 million at the time to build what would become, for many years, the most expensive house ever built in Missouri.

The intention was to create something unique, different from everything that existed in the area, which also became the reason for so much controversy.

An Aesthetic That Divides Opinions

The extravagant design, full of glass and metal, has led to comparisons of the property with shopping malls, cruise ships, and even office buildings.

Because of this, the Evergreen Crystal Palace has been nicknamed “the ugliest mansion in the world” by architecture portals and users on social media.

Still, the property impresses with its grandeur and panoramic views of the lake.

Luxury in Every Detail of the Mansion

Spread over five floors, the house has 14 bedrooms, several kitchens, a private cinema, and a complete spa.

There are also spacious living rooms with sofas facing the huge glass windows, allowing one to admire the landscape without leaving home.

Another highlight is the garage, which spans over 700 square meters and has space for at least 14 vehicles.

Additionally, the property features a helipad and even an underground shooting range, reinforcing the eccentric profile of the project.

An Interior That Stopped in Time

The decoration remains faithful to the 1990s, with imposing chandeliers, animal sculptures, and a large fountain right at the entrance.

In one corner, two time capsules await to be opened in 2042 and 2092, holding secrets of the magnate and his family.

A Tour That Went Viral on the Internet

In 2021, YouTuber BigBankz visited the Evergreen Crystal Palace and recorded a complete tour of the property, which at the time was valued at US$ 80 million.

Since then, the video has helped solidify the mansion’s fame as one of the most talked-about — and curious — in the United States.
