Engine and Technology of the Honda PCX 2024
The latest generation of the Honda PCX scooter features a 160cc SOHC single-cylinder engine, a significant upgrade over the previous 150cc. The new engine delivers a maximum power of 16 hp at 8,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 1.5 kgm.f at 6,500 rpm, with an increased compression ratio of 12.0:1. This evolution provides better performance and efficiency.
Equipped with eSP+ (enhanced Smart Power Plus) technology, the 2024 PCX scooter’s engine aims to reduce internal friction and optimize efficiency. The V-MATIC CVT transmission ensures smooth and efficient operation. Safety has also been enhanced with the inclusion of the HSTC system (Honda Selectable Torque Control), which limits rear tire traction losses on low-adhesion surfaces and can be disabled by the rider.
