Brazil is About to Witness a Milestone in Road Infrastructure: the Inauguration of the Mega Bridge Between Pará and Tocantins, the Largest Construction Project in the Country! Expectations are High, and Teams Are Finalizing the Last Details for This Monumental Structure of 1,727 Meters Over the Araguaia River to Start Transforming Life and Transportation in the Region. As the Construction of the Bridge Approaches Completion with Less Than 2% Pending, the Second Important Phase, Which Includes Access to the Mega Bridge Between Pará and Tocantins, Is Already Underway, Elevating the Project to a New Level of Finalization.

The Mega Bridge Between Pará and Tocantins Has Overcome the Most Complex Challenges. The Structural Execution Was Successfully Completed by the Consortium Chamba, Composed of the Companies Art Leste, AG Gaspar, and Garbon. The Team Finished Building the Deck, Side Safety Barriers, the So-Called New Jersey, and the Handrails, Finalizing a 12-Meter Wide Bridge with Lanes, Shoulders, and 1.5 Meters of Sidewalk on Each Side for Pedestrian Crossing. This Grand Structure Received an Investment of R$ 205 Million and, Besides Being the Largest Under Construction in Brazil, Already Impresses with Its Size and Durability, Representing an Impressive Engineering Achievement.

Another Essential Aspect for Sustainability Was the Planting of 4,000 Native Tree Seedlings for Environmental Compensation, in Response to the Deforestation Necessary for the Project. With the Completion of This Environmental Component, the Bridge Is Becoming More Prepared to Fulfill Its Role as a Historical Bridge of Integration and Sustainability.

The New Phase: The Construction of Access to the Mega Bridge

Now, the construction phase of the accesses Comes Into Focus as a Priority to Make the Mega Bridge Between Pará and Tocantins Fully Operational. Tasked with This Mission, Topo S.A. Is Already Mobilized to Execute the 2,010 Meters of Access, with 310 Meters on the Para Side in São Geraldo do Araguaia and 1,700 Meters on the Tocantins Side in Xambioá. On the Tocantins Side, Extensive Earthwork Will Be Necessary to Facilitate the Connections from BR-153 to the Mega Bridge, Including Some Expropriations and Environmental Approvals That Were Recently Completed.

The Construction of the Accesses Is Essential for the Use of the Bridge, as They Will Allow Efficient and Safe Transit Between the States, Solving the Dependence on the Barge That Currently Represents a Slow and Costly Alternative. It Is Estimated That This Second Phase Will Consume About R$ 28 Million, an Essential Amount to Ensure That the Population and Workers in the Region Have a Modern, Fast, and Cost-Effective Passage.

The Impact of the Mega Bridge Between Pará and Tocantins

With the Completion of the Accesses and the Inauguration of the Bridge, the Region Will Experience a True Transformation. The BR-153 Bridge Promises to Eliminate Crossing Costs by Barge, Besides Accelerating the Transportation of Goods and Facilitating the Movement of the Local Population. This New Connection Between Pará and Tocantins Enhances the Economic Development of Both States, Creating a Free and Functional Passage Between Two Regions of Strong Agricultural, Commercial, and Industrial Influence.

The Project Stands Out Not Only for Its Size and Logistical Importance, but Also for Its Potential Social and Economic Impact, Connecting Truck Drivers, Companies, and the Population That Relies on the Crossing More Efficiently. This Direct Connection on BR-153 Promises Benefits Ranging from Time Savings to Cost Reductions for Those Traveling This Route.
