Naked Energy Developed A Solar Energy Technology That Can Retire Solar Panels. The Device Is A Hybrid Solar Panel That Can Heat Water And Generate Energy Simultaneously.

With the popularization of solar energy around the world in recent years, various innovations are emerging, thus the solar energy market has just gained a new technology. It is a hybrid solar panel, capable of generating energy and heat for water heating at the same time, being up to 4x more efficient compared to conventional solar panels.

Although it uses solar energy as its primary energy source, the photovoltaic system is not linked to the solar water heating system.

They are distinct applications, and the operating principles are entirely different, as are the materials used. But have you ever thought about the possibility of inventing a hybrid solar panel? That is what one company decided to do, developing an innovative technology that combines the two systems, generating energy and heating water for your home.

The technology from Naked Energy, named vacuum solar tube, or VirtuPVT, features collector tubes that have two layers of glass with a vacuum between them, functioning like a thermos, providing the advantage of reducing thermal losses to the atmosphere, resulting in greater efficiency, even in colder climates. Additionally, the vacuum of the hybrid solar panel protects the solar panels as they are cooled by the solar absorber, maintaining a uniform temperature.

New Technology Generates Performance Of 40% Compared To Traditional Solar Panels

Among the advantages of the new technology in the solar energy sector is the expansion of electrical performance and the lifespan of photovoltaic cells. The tubes feature a versatile design that is easy to install, and each one has its own mounting system, reducing installation time and material used.

With a height of only 25 cm, the new hybrid solar panel significantly reduces the impacts caused by wind compared to conventional installations. To ensure optimal performance, the solar energy tubes are tilted and spaced exactly to prevent self-shading.

Another highlight of the technology is its reflector to capture solar energy that would be lost, thus increasing the performance that would be lost by 40%, bringing a yield of 15% in annual averages.

Return On Investment Can Be Much Faster

The hybrid solar panel has a length of 2.16 cm x 30 cm in width, weighing about 20 kg, with an electrical power of 70W in each tube. The connection is made through MC4 connectors, resembling common solar panels.

Naked’s goal is to generate more energy in a smaller space, considering that the solar tubes combine solar energy and thermal energy into one product.

According to the company, the new technology is 4x more efficient than common solar panels, generating more energy per square meter than any other innovation, making it perfect for buildings that demand a lot of hot water and heat like hotels, hospitals, among others. Heating water using thermal energy generates energy savings, increasing the return on investment by 50% per square meter.
